Sprinkle Many Nations

Bible Questions Answered:
“What does it mean that God shall sprinkle many nations?”
Ishild/ Frankfurt, Germany

Bible Answer:

Isaiah 52:13-15 KJV
13 Behold, My servant shall deal prudently, He shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
14 As many were astonished at thee; His visage was so marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men:
15 So shall He sprinkle* many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at Him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

*Sprinkle-Hebrew-Nazah (Naw-zaw): Besprinkle-sprinkle.

This a picture of the suffering Messiah, one day to be revealed as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, eternal High Priest of His people. Just as many on that day will be astonished at His appearance, so to will they be at His love and mercy.

It was and may certainly still be, the custom of the East, that when one has given an invitation to a banquet at his house. He has a servant stationed at the door, for when the guests arrive, he “sprinkles,” them with rose, or orange blossom, water.

This “marked” the guests as having been called, and accepted of the homeowner, to attend his banquet.

Do you remember, when in the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, at end of service, a deacon, or one so chosen. Would go up and down the isle of the sanctuary, swinging a smoking censor.

When people meet you downtown, they knew that you had been in the house of the Lord, by the pleasant aroma around you. It was but an outward sign, of what had taken place inside.

Israel's High Priest Aaron:

Exodus 29:21 KJV
And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle* it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

*Sprinkle-Hebrew-Nazah (Naw-zaw): Besprinkle-sprinkle.

Leviticus 16:11-17 NLT (Aaron, an Old Testament type of the Lord Jesus Christ.)
11 “Aaron will present his own bull as a sin offering to purify himself and his family, making them right with the Lord. After he has slaughtered the bull as a sin offering,
12 he will fill an incense burner with burning coals from the altar that stands before the Lord. Then he will take two handfuls of fragrant powdered incense and will carry the burner and the incense behind the inner curtain.
13 There in the Lord’s presence he will put the incense on the burning coals so that a cloud of incense will rise over the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. If he follows these instructions, he will not die.
14 Then he must take some of the blood of the bull, dip his finger in it, and sprinkle* it on the east side of the atonement cover. He must sprinkle blood seven times with his finger in front of the atonement cover.
15 “Then Aaron must slaughter the first goat as a sin offering for the people and carry its blood behind the inner curtain. There he will sprinkle the goat’s blood over the atonement cover and in front of it, just as he did with the bull’s blood.
16 Through this process, he will purify the Most Holy Place, and he will do the same for the entire Tabernacle, because of the defiling sin and rebellion of the Israelites.
17 No one else is allowed inside the Tabernacle when Aaron enters it for the purification ceremony in the Most Holy Place. No one may enter until he comes out again after purifying himself, his family, and all the congregation of Israel, making them right with the Lord.

*Sprinkle-Hebrew-Nazah (Naw-zaw): Besprinkle-sprinkle.

Today, Christians have a great High Priest, the Lord Jesus, who has given His own blood as a perfect sacrifice for sin.

Hebrews 2:17,18 NLT
17 Therefore, it was necessary for Him to be made in every respect like us, His brothers and sisters, so that He could be our Merciful and Faithful High Priest before God. Then He could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people.
18 Since He Himself has gone through suffering and testing, He is able to help us when we are being tested.

Hebrews 4:14-16 KJV
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 5:1-10 NLT
1 Every high priest is a man chosen to represent other people in their dealings with God. He presents their gifts to God and offers sacrifices for their sins.
2 And he is able to deal gently with ignorant and wayward people because he himself is subject to the same weaknesses.
3 That is why he must offer sacrifices for his own sins as well as theirs.
4 And no one can become a high priest simply because he wants such an honor. He must be called by God for this work, just as Aaron was.
5 That is why Christ did not honor Himself by assuming He could become High Priest. No, He was chosen by God, who said to Him, “You are My Son. Today I have become your Father.”
6 And in another passage God said to Him, “You are a Priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”
7 While Jesus was here on earth, He offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the One who could rescue Him from death. And God heard His prayers because of His deep reverence for God.
8 Even though Jesus was God’s Son, He learned obedience from the things He suffered.
9 In this way, God qualified Him as a perfect High Priest, and He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him.
10 And God designated Him to be a High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 7:15-28 NLT
15 This change has been made very clear since a different priest, who is like Melchizedek, has appeared.
16 Jesus became a Priest, not by meeting the physical requirement of belonging to the tribe of Levi, but by the power of a life that cannot be destroyed.
17 And the psalmist pointed this out when he prophesied, “You are a Priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”
18 Yes, the old requirement about the priesthood was set aside because it was weak and useless.
19 For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
20 This new system was established with a solemn oath. Aaron’s descendants became priests without such an oath,
21 but there was an oath regarding Jesus. For God said to Him, “The Lord has taken an oath and will not break His vow: ‘You are a Priest forever.’”
22 Because of this oath, Jesus is the one who guarantees this better covenant with God.
23 There were many priests under the old system, for death prevented them from remaining in office.
24 But because Jesus lives forever, His Priesthood lasts forever.
25 Therefore He is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
26 He is the kind of High Priest we need because He is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners and has been given the highest place of honor in heaven.
27 Unlike those other high priests, He does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when He offered Himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins.
28 The law appointed high priests who were limited by human weakness. But after the law was given, God appointed His Son with an oath, and His Son has been made the perfect High Priest forever.

Hebrews 8:1,2 NLT
1 Here is the main point: We have a High Priest who sat down in the place of honor beside the throne of the majestic God in heaven.
2 There He ministers in the heavenly Tabernacle, the true place of worship that was built by the Lord and not by human hands.

Our perfect, sinless High Priest.

II Corinthians 5:21 KJV
For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

I Peter 2:22 KJV

Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth:

I John 3:5 KJV
And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin.

Today, we as God's people are not sprinkled with the blood of bulls and goats, but the precious
blood of God's sinless Son, our perfect and holy High Priest forever, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 10:22 NLT

Let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting Him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled* with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

*Sprinkled-Greek-Rhantizo (Hran-tid-zo): To sprinkle; to render be sprinkled, i.e. asperse-sprinkle.

I Peter 1:2 KJV
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling* of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

*Sprinkling-Greek-Rhantismos-(Hran-tis-mos): Aspersion-sprinkling.

Revelation 1:5 KJV
And from Jesus Christ, who is the Faithful Witness, and the First Begotten of the Dead, and
The Prince of the Kings of the Earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

Revelation 7:13f,14 KJV
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Revelation 19:8 KJV (Bride of Christ.)
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Our living High Priest, is...

Acts 10:34 KJV
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

He has called the world to Himself, and to all who will come unto Him, claiming Him as their great High Priest Saviour, He will sprinkle His blood upon them, and save them.

John 10:16 KJV
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice; and there shall be one fold, and one Shepherd.

John 3:14-18 KJV
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the Only Begotten Son of God.

Acts 4:10-12 KJV
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead...
11 This is the Stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the Head of the Corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I Peter 1:18,19 KJV
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot:

Friend, how is your wedding garment, have you been made acceptable to God?
Will the heavenly Fathers servants....admit you?
Will you garments have been sprinkled, with the precious blood of Christ?
Many people and nations on that day, will be able to answer yes!

Matthew 22:1-14 KJV
1 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
