Loved Ones Passed On-Will We Know Them Again?
Bible Questions Answered:
“...so we have been discussing,
whether or not we will know our loved ones in heaven. And some
thought so, still others were not sure. …”

Bible Answer:
Yes!
King David, fully believed he would
see his dead son again!
II Samuel 12:22,23 NLT
22 David replied, “I fasted and
wept while the child was alive, for I said, ‘Perhaps The Lord will
be gracious to me and let the child live.’
23 But why should I fast when he is
dead? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him one day, but he
cannot return to me.”
Early Christian
belief, maintained that believers who were passed on, occupied
heaven, and both, listened and watched events transpire on earth.
Luke 16:19-31
KJV....see the blog posting:
Philippians 3:20
KJV (Apostle Paul.)
For our conversation is in
heaven; from whence also we look for The Savior, The Lord Jesus
Christ:
II Corinthians
5:8 KJV (Apostle Paul.)
We are confident, I say, and willing
rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with The Lord.
Hebrews 12:1 NLT
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
On the Mount of
transfiguration, the disciples, instantly knew, who Moses and Elijah
were!
How could that be?
John 14:26 KJV
But The Comforter, which is The Holy
Ghost, whom The Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all
things, and bring all things to your remembrance..."
Matthew 17:1-3
KJV (Moses and Elijah, had been
in heaven for centuries.)
1 And after six days Jesus taketh
Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high
mountain apart,
2 And was transfigured before them:
and His face did shine as the sun, and His raiment was white as the
light.
3 And, behold, there appeared unto
them Moses and Elias (Elijah) talking with Him.
Saints of old, one day, will be known as brothers.
Matthew 8:11 NLT
And I tell you this, that many
Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and
sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom
of Heaven.
Believers, and
their works remembered.
Revelation
6:9,10 NLT
9 When The Lamb broke the fifth
seal, I saw under the altar the souls of all who had been martyred
for
The Word Of God and for being
faithful in their testimony.
10 They shouted to The Lord and
said, “O Sovereign Lord, Holy and True, how long before you judge
the people who belong to this world and avenge our blood for what
they have done to us?”
Romans 14:12 KJV
So then every one of us shall give
account of himself to God.
Hebrews 13:17
KJV
Obey them that have the rule over
you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they
that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with
grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
Revelation 14:13 KJV
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in The Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith The Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.
Revelation
19:6-9 NLT
6 Then I heard again what sounded
like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or
the crash of loud thunder: “Praise The Lord! For The Lord our God,
The Almighty, reigns.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and
let us give honor to Him. For the time has come for the wedding feast
of The Lamb,
and His bride has prepared herself.
8 She has been given the finest of
pure white linen to wear.” For the fine linen represents the good
deeds of God’s holy people.
9 And the angel said to me, “Write
this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of The
Lamb.” And he added, “These are true words that come from God.”
Surely if our works
will be remembered, we will be too!
At the rapture
of the church of The Lord Jesus Christ:
I Thessalonians
4:13-18 NLT
13 And now, dear brothers and
sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who
have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.
14 For since we believe that Jesus
died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus
returns, God will bring back with Him the believers who have died.
15 We tell you this directly from
The Lord: We who are still living when The Lord returns will not meet
Him ahead of those who have died.
16 For The Lord Himself will come
down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians
who have died will rise from their graves.
17 Then, together with them, we who
are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the
clouds to meet The Lord in the air. Then we will be with The Lord
forever.
18 So encourage each other with
these words.
Yes it is true believers will undergo some transformation at the
rapture of the church, for …
I Corinthians
15:50 KJV
"...flesh
and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God..."
I Corinthians
15:53 NLT
For our dying
bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our
mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.
And yet, our blessed Savior, was completely recognized by His
followers after His resurrection!
John 20:16,17 KJV (Resurrected Jesus appears to Mary.)
16 Jesus saith
unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni;
which is to say, Master.
17 Jesus saith
unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but
go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and
your Father; and to my God, and your God.
John 20:20 KJV (Resurrected Jesus appears to His disciples.)
And when he had
so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the
disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
I John 3:2 KJV
Beloved, now
are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:
but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him;
for we shall see Him as He is.
The resurrection, had not changed our Lord's appearance, nor his
character. And we will be changed, yet have the same likeness of who we
were. Changed from mortal, to immortal, and from earthly to being
like The Lord, when we are in His presence, forever!
Ephesians
3:14,15 KJV
14 For this cause I bow my knees
unto The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in
heaven and earth is named,
