Symbols Of Biblical Characters: John
Church Symbol: An Eagle, rising from a cauldron. The Flying Eagle.
The Eagle, Soaring in the heavenlies....above the other gospels, as it is packed with theology.
The Flying Eagle, speaks of Christ's Heavenly Deity.
Martin Luther, called the Gospel of John, “the Chiefest of the Gospels.”
John mentions...
John 2:1-11 Marriage at Cana.
John 4:1-42 Samaritan woman at Jacob's well.
John 5:2-9 Infirm man at the pool of Bethesda.
John 11:1-44 Lazarus being raised.
The Gospel of John was written by John for the Church at Ephesus, and the world.
John spoke of Jesus being the Son of God.
John 20:31 KJV
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name.
Why the cauldron?
Tradition says the Apostle John, was thrown into a boiling cauldron of oil, but escaped.
The Apostle was an eye witness of Christ's crucifixion.
John 19:33-35 KJV
[33] But when they came to Jesus, and saw that He was dead already, they brake not His legs:
[34] But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced His side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
[35] And he that saw it (the Apostle John) bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
Though not mentioned by name, yet the Apostle John, is believed to be the author of the book of John.
John refers to himself....
John 13:23 KJV
Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. (The Apostle John)
Dear friend, are you leaning on Jesus, for your support, your care, your comfort, your needs, your salvation, as did the faithful Apostle John?

Casting all your care upon Him (Jesus); for He careth for you.
