Faith On The Earth? #2

Bible Questions Answered:
“Will the son of man find faith on the earth. Because he answers prayer, the answer to his own question then must be, yes, correct?...”
Manly/ Bethlehem, Pennsylvania U.S.A.

Bible Answer:
Bible Text:
Luke 18:8 KJV
I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when The Son Of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?

Many, many, since Luke (alone) wrote these words of the Savior, have asked that same question, and yet today.

It seems an open question, yet if our Lord speaks from irony, not so.
But to better understand, we must of course resort to the complete text from which this verse is taken.

Luke 18:1-8 KJV
1 And He spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 And The Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 And shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them?
8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when The Son Of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?

Avenge: To get revenge for a wrong.
(New World Dictionary)

A woman had been wronged by someone and she sought revenge by means of a judge.
"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"
William Congreve 17th century playwright.
Though not written by our Lord, yet He seemed to understand the thought.

God will avenge His people, “Nevertheless when The Son Of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?”

The answer of course, is where we find all answers, in The Word.

Matthew 7:14 KJV
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 22:14 KJV
For many are called, but few are chosen.

Luke 13:23,24 KJV
23 Then said one unto Him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And He said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

I Peter 3:20 NLT
Those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood.

Revelation 3:4 KJV
Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

It appears our Lord was speaking in irony.
Even though God is a Just and, Merciful God, even though He eagerly listens, even though He eagerly bears with them, even though He avenges them..........

For many, that is “not,” good enough. They do not wish to wait, for God's judgments, they wish to take revenge themselves, etc. etc. etc.

Will He find faith on the earth, when He returns.....

Matthew 7:14 KJV “and few there be that find it.”
Matthew 22:14 KJV “ few are chosen.”
Luke 13:24 KJV “for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”

Romans 12:19 KJV
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, saith The Lord.

Luke 18:8 KJV
...Nevertheless when The Son Of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?”
Everyday, your life and mine, determines that answer.
Let's decide to follow The Lord.

Matthew 16:24 KJV
Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
