Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.

Spiritual Body
Bible Questions Answered:
“What is a spiritual body that we
will have...?
Betty/ Spruce Grove, Alberta,
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
The Apostle Paul spoke of a
spiritual body...
I Corinthians 15:35-58 KJV
35 But some man will say, How are
the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest
is not quickened, except it die:
37 And that which thou sowest, thou
sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of
wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God giveth it a body as it
hath pleased Him, and to every seed his own body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh:
but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts,
another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies,
and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and
the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun,
and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for
one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of
the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonor; it is
raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in
power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is
raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is
a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first
man Adam was made a living soul; The Last Adam was made a Quickening
Spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which
is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is
spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth,
earthy; The Second Man is The Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they
also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that
are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of
the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that
flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth
corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We
shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of
an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead
shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on
incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall
have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on
immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is
written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O
grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and
the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which
giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren,
be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of
The Lord, forasmuch as ye know that
your labor is not in vain in The Lord.
Our Lord was raised
in this “spiritual - glorified,” body.
Acts 1:9-11 NLT (A body not subject to the
laws of nature.)
9 After saying this, He was taken
up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no
longer see Him.
10 As they strained to see Him
rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them.
11 “Men of Galilee,” they said,
“why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been
taken from you into heaven, but someday He will return from heaven in
the same way you saw Him go!”
It is a heavenly
body, that one day every follower of The Lord Jesus, will receive.
John 20:19,20
KJV (A body not subject to the
laws of nature.)
19 Then the same day at evening,
being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut
where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came
Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto
you.
20 And when He had so said, He
shewed unto them His hands and His side. Then were the disciples
glad, when they saw The Lord.
Luke 24:36-43
KJV
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus
Himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be
unto you.
37 But they were terrified and
affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 And He said unto them, Why are ye
troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold My hands and My
feet, that it is I myself: handle Me, and see; for a
spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see Me have.
40 And when He had thus spoken, He
shewed them His hands and His feet.
41 And while they yet believed not
for joy, and wondered, He said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave Him a piece of a
broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And He took it, and did eat
before them.
A special body, the
glorified body:
Revelation
7:15-17 KJV
15 Therefore are they before The
Throne Of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that
sitteth on The Throne shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more,
neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any
heat.
17 For The Lamb which is in the
midst of The Throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living
fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from
their eyes.
Revelation 21:4
KJV
And God shall wipe away all tears
from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither
sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the
former things are passed away.
One, soon coming
day, as God's children, we will have a “spiritual –
glorified” body.
II Corinthians
5:1-5 NLT
1 For we know that when this earthly
tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this
earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body
made for us by God Himself and not by human hands.
2 We grow weary in our present
bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new
clothing.
3 For we will put on heavenly
bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies.
4 While we live in these earthly
bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get
rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new
bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by Life.
5 God Himself has prepared us for
this, and as a guarantee He has given us His Holy Spirit.
Philippians
3:20,21 NLT
20 But we are citizens of heaven,
where The Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for Him
to return as our Savior.
21 He will take our weak mortal
bodies and change them into glorious bodies like His
own, using the same power with which He will bring everything
under His control.
Dear friend, are
you a child of God?
Colosssians 3:4
KJV
When Christ, who is our Life, shall
appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.
I John 3:2 KJV
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.
