Faith On The Earth?
Bible Questions Answered:
“Did Jesus say there wouldn't be
faith on the earth when he comes?”

Bible Text:
Luke 18:1-8 NLT
1 One day Jesus told His disciples a
story to show that they should always pray and never give up.
2 “There was a judge in a certain
city,” He said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people.
3 A widow of that city came to him
repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my
enemy.’
4 The judge ignored her for a while,
but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about
people,
5 but this woman is driving me crazy.
I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me
out with her constant requests!’”
6 Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson
from this unjust judge.
7 Even he rendered a just decision in
the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to His
chosen people who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting
them off?
8 I tell you, He will grant justice to
them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will He
find on the earth who have faith?”
Jesus did not say
that there would be “no,” faith on earth when He comes, but will
He find faith on the earth when He returns.
The first is a
statement, the second a question.
God's answers to
prayer always have been....
Wait, keep praying because the answer
will come, at the right time.
Yes, and the
answer comes immediately.
No, and God will
“not, “ do as you ask, because it is “not,” the right thing
to do.
Knowing these
possibilities to prayer, when we “pray according to the Word of the
Lord,” and nothing seems to happen, Jesus taught us to keep
prevailing in prayer.
We live in a world
of instant, gratification, people want their answers now!
But things don't
always happen that way.
At one time Godly
Daniel, waited 21 days for an answer to his prayer.
Daniel 10:11-13
NLT (Read the whole chapter.)
11 And the Man
said to me, “Daniel, you are very precious to God, so listen
carefully to what I have to say to you. Stand up, for I have been
sent to you.” When He said this to me, I stood up, still trembling.
12 Then He said,
“Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray
for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your
request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your
prayer.
13 But for
twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked My
way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help Me, and I left
him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia.
Patience is a
“fruit of the Holy Spirit,” but an ungodly world is not filled
with the spirit.
II Timothy 3:1-9
NLT
1 You should know
this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult
times.
2 For people will
love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and
proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful.
They will consider nothing sacred.
3 They will be
unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no
self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.
4 They will betray
their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love
pleasure rather than God.
5 They will act
religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.
Stay away from people like that!
6 They are the
kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence
of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and
controlled by various desires.
7 (Such women are
forever following new teachings, but they are never able to
understand the truth.)
8 These teachers
oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have
depraved minds and a counterfeit faith.
9 But they won’t
get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what
fools they are, just as with Jannes and Jambres.
II Timothy 4:3,4
KJV
3 For the time
will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their
own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching
ears;
4 And they shall
turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
II Peter 3:3,4 KJV
3 Knowing this
first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after
their own lusts,
4 And saying,
Where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell
asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the
creation.
Jude 1-19 KJV
1 Jude, the
servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are
sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and
called:
2 Mercy unto you,
and peace, and love, be multiplied.
3 Beloved, when I
gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was
needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should
earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the
saints.
4 For there are
certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to
this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into
lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus
Christ.
5 I will therefore
put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord,
having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed
them that believed not.
6 And the angels
which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He
hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment
of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom
and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving
themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are
set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 Likewise also
these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak
evil of dignities.
9 Yet Michael the
archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body
of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said,
The Lord rebuke thee.
10 But these speak
evil of those things which they know not: but what they know
naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
11 Woe unto them!
for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the
error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
12 These are spots
in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding
themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about
of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead,
plucked up by the roots;
13 Raging waves of
the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is
reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
14 And Enoch also,
the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord
cometh with ten thousands of His saints,
15 To execute
judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of
all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all
their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.
16 These are
murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their
mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in
admiration because of advantage.
17 But, beloved,
remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our
Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they
told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk
after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they
who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
Jesus told us...
Matthew 7:13,14
KJV
13 Enter ye in at
the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that
leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait
is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few
there be that find it.
I Corinthians 1:18
KJV
For the preaching
of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which
are saved it is the power of God.
I John 2:15-17 KJV
15 Love not the
world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the
world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is
in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and
the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world
passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God
abideth for ever.
