Enoch
Bible Questions Answered:
“What happened to Enoch?”
Shelby/ San Diego, California U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Text:
Genesis 5:21-24 KJV
21 And Enoch
lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
22 And Enoch walked with God after
he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and
daughters:
23 And all the days of Enoch were
three hundred sixty and five years:
24 And Enoch walked with God:
and he was not; for God took* him.
*Took-Hebrew:
Laqach (Law-kakh): To take, carry away, receive, seize, take
away.
This was said of
only two people:
Genesis 6:9 KJV
These are the generations of Noah:
Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations,
and Noah walked with God.
Hebrews 11:5 KJV
By faith Enoch was translated that
he should not see death; and was not found, because God had
translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony,
that he pleased God.
Jude 1:14 KJV
And Enoch also, the seventh from
Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, The Lord cometh with ten
thousands of His saints,
Some labor under the delusion that the
Old Testament says nothing of the after life and or its rewards, bu
that is “not,” the case at all!
Old Testament beliefs, concerning
resurrection and eternal life after death.
Job 19:25-27 KJV
(Resurrection-Reward.)
25 For I know that my Redeemer
liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
26 And though after my skin worms
destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27 Whom I shall see for myself, and
mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins (Kidneys,
heart) be consumed within me.
Psalm 49:1-28 NLT (For the choir
director: A psalm of the descendants of Korah.)
1 Listen to this, all you people!
Pay attention, everyone in the world!
2 High and low, rich and
poor—listen!
3 For my words are wise, and my
thoughts are filled with insight.
4 I listen carefully to many
proverbs and solve riddles with inspiration from a harp.
5 Why should I fear when trouble
comes, when enemies surround me?
6 They trust in their wealth and
boast of great riches.
7 Yet they cannot redeem themselves
from death by paying a ransom to God.
8 Redemption does not come so
easily, for no one can ever pay enough
9 to live forever and never see the
grave.
10 Those who are wise must finally
die, just like the foolish and senseless, leaving all their wealth
behind.
11 The grave is their eternal home,
where they will stay forever. They may name their estates after
themselves,
12 but their fame will not last.
They will die, just like animals.
13 This is the fate of fools, though
they are remembered as being wise. Interlude
14 Like sheep, they are led to the
grave, where death will be their shepherd.
In the morning the godly will rule
over them. Their bodies will rot in the grave, far from their grand
estates.
15 But as for me, God will redeem
my life. He will snatch me from the power of the grave. Interlude
16 So don’t be dismayed when the
wicked grow rich and their homes become ever more splendid.
17 For when they die, they take
nothing with them. Their wealth will not follow them into the grave.
18 In this life they consider
themselves fortunate and are applauded for their success.
19 But they will die like all before
them and never again see the light of day.
20 People who boast of their wealth
don’t understand; they will die, just like animals.
Psalm 73:23-28 NLT (Death
does not end all.)
23 "...I...belong to you; you
hold my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
leading me to a glorious destiny.
25 Whom have I in heaven but
you? I desire you more than anything on earth.
26 My health may fail, and my spirit
may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is
mine forever.
27 Those who desert Him will perish,
for you destroy those who abandon you.
28 But as for me, how good it is to
be near God! I have made The Sovereign Lord my Shelter, and I will
tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.
Ecclesiastes
3:17 NLT (Solomon: Life after death, judgment and reward.)
I said to myself, “In due season
God will judge everyone, both good and bad, for all their deeds.”
Isaiah 26:19 NLT
But those who die in The Lord will
live; their bodies will rise again! Those who sleep in the earth will
rise up and sing for joy! For your life-giving light will fall like
dew on your people in the place of the dead!
Daniel 12:1-3 NLT (The Lord
reveals to Daniel, end time events.)
(Book of Life-Revelation 3:5/
20:12,15 KJV)
1 “At that time Michael, the
archangel who stands guard over your nation, will arise. Then there
will be a time of anguish greater than any since nations first came
into existence. But at that time every one of your people whose name
is written in the book will be rescued.
(Resurrection of the dead.- I
Corinthians 15:51-58/I Thessalonians 4:13-18 KJV
2 Many of those whose bodies lie
dead and buried will rise up, some to everlasting life and some to
shame and everlasting disgrace.
(Eternal Rewards.- I Corinthians
3:11-15/ Revelation 11:18/ 22:12 KJV)
3 Those who are wise will shine as
bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will
shine like the stars forever.
Two men in heaven
have never died, but are there by the power of God. These two men are
Enoch and Elijah.
II Kings 2:11
KJV (Elijah and Elisha.)
And it came to pass, as they still
went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire,
and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up
by a whirlwind into heaven.
What happened to faithful husband, father and Patriarch Enoch, he went to heaven, translated to ever be with The Living God,
and Elijah the same.
What happens after
death?
Hebrews 9:27 KJV
And as it is appointed unto men once
to die, but after this the judgment:
Hebrews 9:27 NLT
And just as each person is destined
to die once and after that comes judgment,
Hebrews 9:27
NASB
And inasmuch as it is appointed for
men to die once and after this comes judgment,
Hebrews 9:27 YLT
and as it is laid up to men once to
die, and after this -- judgment,
Hebrews 9:27 MSG
Everyone has to die once, then face
the consequences.
Judgment after
death!
Jesus told the
story....
Luke 16:19-24
MSG (Read the whole story verses 19-31.)
19-21 “There
once was a rich man, expensively dressed in the latest fashions,
wasting his days in conspicuous consumption. A poor man named
Lazarus, covered with sores, had been dumped on his doorstep. All he
lived for was to get a meal from scraps off the rich man’s table.
His best friends were the dogs who came and licked his sores.
22-24 “Then he died, this poor
man, and was taken up by the angels to the lap of Abraham (Paradise).
The rich man also died and was
buried. In hell and in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham in the
distance and Lazarus in his lap.
Again Jesus told
us.....
Matthew 25:1-13
KJV
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven
be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth
to meet
The Bridegroom
(Isaiah 61:10 KJV).
2 And five of them were wise, and
five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their
lamps, and took no oil with them (Oil
a type of God The Holy spirit/ Exodus
29:7/ Luke
4:18 KJV)
4 But the wise took oil in their
vessels with their lamps.
5 While The Bridegroom tarried, they
all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry
made, Behold, The Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and
trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the
wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not
so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them
that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the
bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the
marriage (The Marriage Supper Of
The Lamb: Revelation
19:5-9 KJV) and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other
virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But He answered and said, Verily
I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know
neither the day nor the hour wherein The Son Of Man cometh.
Friend, are you
living for The Lord, near The Lord?
Will The Son Of
Man, take you away to heaven?
