Matthew 5:14-16 NLT

14 “You are The Light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.

15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.

16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your Heavenly Father.

Mark 4:21-23 NLT

21 Then Jesus asked them, “Would anyone light a lamp and then put it under a basket or under a bed? Of course not! A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light will shine.

22 For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light.

23 Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.”

Luke 8:16,17 NLT

16 “No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.

17 For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.

Luke 11:33-36 NLT

33 “No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.

34 “Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is bad, your body is filled with darkness.

35 Make sure that the light you think you have is not actually darkness.

36 If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light.”

Our Lord likened His people to burning lamps, proclaiming the gospel.

Our light is really His Light.

As God's people, we are the lamps of The Lord.

God's Lamps, And Their Duty:

As God's lamps in the world, we are to be filled with The Holy Spirit, and to be aflame, for the glory of God.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Caution:

We are not saved, “by” good works! But

We are not “saved,” “from” doing good works!

Ephesians 2:8,9 KJV

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

God's children are called to Glorious Brilliance, and that our Confession, something that should not be hid, but that which is gloriously made known, bringing glory to The Living God.
