God-Is Sovereign
Bible Questions Answered:
“Pastor, the other day a man, an
atheist, wrote in the editorial portion of the news paper, said how
upset he was with so called moral people, who were finger pointing at
people and groups who were not like themselves, saying that tragedies
were because of them, hurricanes, earthquakes etc. etc.. His last
rant was if this is so why is God so indiscriminate in his
destructions? What can we answer a man like this?...”
Dorthy, Davenport, Iowa U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
The answer is God's sovereignty, i.e.
God's supreme and independent authority.
Matthew 5:43-48 KJV
43 Ye have heard that it hath been
said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your
enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That
ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He
maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain
on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love
you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren
only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as
your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Matthew 5:43-48
NLT
43 “You have
heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your
enemy.
44 But I say,
love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!
45 In that way,
you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For
He gives His sunlight to both the evil and the good, and He sends
rain on the just and the unjust alike.
46 If you love
only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt
tax collectors do that much.
47 If you are
kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else?
Even pagans do that. 48 But you are to be perfect, even as your
Father in heaven is perfect.
Into every life, some sunlight, some rain.
God Is Sovereign!

above all.
12 Both riches
and honor come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand
is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to
give strength unto all.
13 Now
therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

35 And all the
inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and He doeth
according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the
inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand, or say unto

NLT
33 Oh, how

His glory. All glory to Him forever! Amen.
