Parables-Our Lord's: The Strait Gate.

Bible Lesson: Parables-Our Lord's: The Strait Gate.

Occasion: Answers The Question: How Many Will Be Saved.

Lesson: The Way Of Salvation Is Only Through God's Son.

Bible Text:
Matthew 7:13,14 KJV (The Strait Gate.)
13 Enter ye in at the strait (Narrow) gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 7:13,14 NLT (The Narrow Gate.)
13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.
14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.

Luke 13:22-30 KJV
22 And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
23 Then said one unto Him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And He said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 When once The Master Of The House is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and He shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
27 But He shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from Me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

Luke 13:22-30 NLT (The Narrow Door.)
22 Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as He went, always pressing on toward Jerusalem.
23 Someone asked Him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?”
He replied,
24 “Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail.
25 When The Master Of The House has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Lord, open the door for us!’ But He will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
26 Then you will say, ‘But we ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
27 And He will reply, ‘I tell you, I don’t know you or where you come from. Get away from Me, all you who do evil.’
28 “There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, for you will see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, but you will be thrown out.
29 And people will come from all over the world—from east and west, north and south—to take their places in the Kingdom of God.
30 And note this: Some who seem least important now will be the greatest then, and some who are the greatest now will be least important then.”

Luke 13:22-30 KJV
22 And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
23 Then said one unto Him, Lord, are there few that be saved?..”

People want to know! Will there only be a few that will be saved, many, or even everyone?
That is one question, Jesus above all others longed to answer, for people must know!

Luke 13:23,24 KJV
“...And He said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait* (Narrow) gate*: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

*Strait-Greek: Stenos (Sten-os): Narrow, strait.
*Gate-Greek: Pule (Poo-lay): Entrance, gate.

Today there is the damnable teaching that “One Kingdom- Many Paths) and it is the “Doctrine Of Devils!”

I Timothy 4:1 KJV
Now The Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Jesus Christ, God's Eternal Son:

John 14:6 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto The Father, but by Me.

And the Jesus way, is a narrow way indeed.

Matthew 16:24 KJV
Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

Mark 10:21 KJV (Rich Young Ruler)
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.

The way of Jesus is a narrow way of obedient Cross bearing,

Matthew 7:14 KJV
Because strait (narrow) is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

John 10:6,7 NLT
6 Those who heard Jesus use this illustration didn’t understand what He meant,
7 so He explained it to them: “I tell you The Truth, I am The Gate for the sheep.

The Huffington Post printed an ABC news poll claiming that in America, 85% believe that they will go to heaven!

An old Negro Spiritual:

Chorus:
Everybody talkin' 'bout heav'n that ain't goin' there
Everybody talkin' 'bout heav'n that ain't goin'
Everybody talkin' 'bout heav'n that ain't goin' there
Oh my Lord

Repeat Chorus (x2)

Well I read about the streets of gold
And I read about the throne
Not everybody callin' "Lord, Lord"
Is gonna see that heavenly home

Repeat Chorus

Additive Parts:
1 - But those who do the will of my God will enter heaven
2 - If you wanna go to heaven, you gotta do more than talk about it
3 - Oh heaven, to heaven, to heaven
4 - If you wanna go to heaven, to heaven, to heaven
5 - Heaven, I wanna go to heaven

Repeat ad lib

There will come a day
When we will all stand before the throne
On that day, some will say
"Did we not prophesy in your name?"
And they'll say:
"We drove out demons in your name"
I know some will say:
"We performed many miracles in your name"
Some will say
"So many works we've done in your name"

Then the Lord will say:
"Depart from me, ye workers of iniquity
I never knew you"
That's why I know

Repeat Chorus (x2)

Oh my Lord
Oh my Lord
Oh my Lord

Matthew 7:16-29 KJV
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a Rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a Rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at His doctrine:
29 For He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

There is only one way to heaven, and that is through the door, the gate to heaven, Jesus Christ, God's Son.

Revelation 3:20 KJV
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.

Will The Savior always be knocking at the door of men's hearts- No!

Hebrews 4:7 KJV
Again, He limiteth a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

John 3:14-21 KJV
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must The Son Of Man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of The Only Begotten Son Of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth The Light, neither cometh to The Light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth Truth cometh to The Light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Remain faithful, cross bearing Christians:

Revelation 2:10 KJV
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Revelation 3:11 KJV
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
