THE WISDOM OF THE WISEMEN
They were wise-men because
THEY SEARCHED FOR JESUS:
The Visit of the Magi
Matthew 2:1,2
1.After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem
2.and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him."
John 12:20,21
20.And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
21.The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying , Sir, we would see Jesus.
THEY WERE SPIRIT LED:
Matthew 2:12.
And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
THEY WORSHIPPED JESUS:
Matthew 2:11. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Psalms 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
THEY BROUGHT GIFTS:
Matthew 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
THEY WERE HAPPY:
Matthew 2:10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
Luke 1:14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at His birth.
