Bible Lesson: Prophecies And Their
Fulfillment.
Bible Prophecy: Messiah Would Be
Rejected By The Jews.
Bible Text:
Isaiah 53:3 KJV
He is despised and rejected of men;
A Man Of Sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were
our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.
Isaiah 53:3 NLT
He was despised and rejected— A
Man Of Sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on
Him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.
Psalm 2:1-3 KJV
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the
people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set
themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against
The Lord, and against His Anointed,
saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder,
and cast away their cords from us.
Psalm 2:1-3 NLT
1 Why are the nations so angry? Why
do they waste their time with futile plans?
2 The kings of the earth prepare for
battle; the rulers plot together against the Lord and against His
Anointed One.
3 “Let us break their chains,”
they cry, “and free ourselves from slavery to God.”
The Fulfillment:
John 1:11 KJV
He came unto His own, and His own
received Him not.
The
Suffering Messiah:
Psalm
69:9 NLT
Passion
for your house has consumed Me, and the insults of those who insult
you have fallen on Me.
Isaiah
50:6 KJV
I
gave My back to the smiters, and My cheeks to them that plucked off
the hair: I hid not My face from shame and spitting.
Isaiah 53:1-12 NLT (Matthew 8:17)
1 Who has believed our message? To
whom has The Lord revealed His powerful arm?
2 My servant grew up in The Lord’s
presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground. There
was nothing beautiful or majestic about His appearance, nothing to
attract us to Him.
3 He was despised and rejected— A
Man Of Sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on
Him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.
4 Yet it was our weaknesses He
carried; it was our sorrows that weighed Him down. And we thought His
troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for His own sins!
5 But He was pierced for our
rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
6 All of us, like sheep, have
strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the
Lord laid on Him the sins of us all.
7 He was oppressed and treated
harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like A Lamb to the
slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, He did not
open His mouth.
8 Unjustly condemned, He was led
away. No one cared that He died without descendants, that His life
was cut short in midstream. But He was struck down for the rebellion
of My people.
9 He had done no wrong and had never
deceived anyone. But He was buried like a criminal; He was put in a
rich man’s grave.
10 But it was The Lord’s good plan
to crush Him and cause Him grief. Yet when His life is made an
offering for sin, He will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long
life, and The Lord’s good plan will prosper in His hands.
11 When He sees all that is
accomplished by His anguish, He will be satisfied. And because of His
experience, My Righteous Servant will make it possible for many to be
counted righteous, for He will bear all their sins.
12 I will give Him the honors of A
Victorious Soldier, because He exposed Himself to death. He was
counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for
rebels.
Isaiah 63:7-10
NLT
7 I will tell of The Lord’s
unfailing love. I will praise The Lord for all He has done. I will
rejoice in His great goodness to Israel (God's People), which He has
granted according to His mercy and love.
8 He said, “They are My very own
people. Surely they will not betray Me again.” And He became their
Savior.
9 In all their suffering He also
suffered, and He personally rescued them. In His Love and Mercy He
redeemed them. He lifted them up and carried them through all the
years.
10 But they rebelled against Him and
grieved His Holy Spirit. So He became their enemy and fought against
them.
Matthew 8:17 NLT
This fulfilled the word of The Lord
through the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and
removed our diseases.”
Matthew 13:55-58
KJV
55 Is not this The Carpenter's son?
is not His mother called Mary? and His brethren, James, and Joses,
and Simon, and Judas?
56 And His sisters, are they not all
with us? Whence then hath this Man all these things?
57 And they were offended in Him.
But Jesus said unto them, A Prophet is not without honor, save in His
own country, and in His own house.
58 And He did not many mighty works
there because of their unbelief.
Matthew
27:29,35,38-42 KJV
29 And when
they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon His head, and a
reed in His right hand: and they bowed the knee before Him, and
mocked Him, saying, Hail,
King Of The
Jews!
35 And they
crucified Him, and parted His garments, casting lots: that it might
be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted My garments
among them, and upon My vesture did they cast lots.
38 Then were there two thieves
crucified with Him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
39 And they that passed by reviled
Him, wagging their heads,
40 And saying, Thou that destroyest
the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be
The Son Of God, come down from the cross.
41 Likewise also the chief priests
mocking Him, with the scribes and elders, said,
42 He saved others; Himself He
cannot save. If He be The King Of Israel, let Him now come down from
the cross, and we will believe Him.
Mark 7:34 NLT
Looking up to heaven, He sighed and
said, “Ephphatha,” which means, “Be opened!”
Mark 8:12,31 KJV
12 And He
sighed deeply in His Spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek
after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given
unto this generation.
31 And He began to teach them, that
The Son Of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the
elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and
after three days rise again.
Mark
15:24,29,30,32,34 KJV
24 And when
they had crucified Him, they parted His garments, casting lots upon
them, what every man should take.
29 And they
that passed by railed on Him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah,
thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,
30 Save
thyself, and come down from the cross.
32 Let Christ The King Of Israel
descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they
that were crucified with Him reviled Him.
34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried
with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is,
being interpreted, My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken Me?
Luke 2:7 KJV
And she brought forth her firstborn
Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger;
because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 4:29 KJV
And rose up, and thrust Him out of
the city, and led Him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city
was built, that they might cast Him down headlong.
Luke 9:22 KJV
Saying, The Son Of Man must suffer
many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and
scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.
Luke 12:50 NLT
I have a terrible baptism of
suffering ahead of Me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is
accomplished.
Luke 16:14 NLT
The Pharisees, who dearly loved
their money, heard all this and scoffed at Him.
Luke 17:25 KJV
But first must He suffer many
things, and be rejected of this generation.
Luke 19:41 KJV
And when He was come near, He beheld
the city, and wept over it,
Luke 22:37,44,63
KJV
37 For the time
has come for this prophecy about Me to be fulfilled: ‘He was
counted among the rebels.’ Yes, everything written about Me by the
prophets will come true.”
44 And being in an agony He prayed
more earnestly: and His sweat was as it were great drops of blood
falling down to the ground.
63 And the men that held Jesus
mocked Him, and smote Him.
Luke 23:11,18,33,36,37 KJV
11 And Herod
with his men of war set Him at nought, and mocked Him, and arrayed
Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him again to Pilate.
18 And they cried out all at once,
saying, Away with this Man, and release unto us Barabbas:
33 And when they were come to the
place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the
malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
36 And the soldiers also mocked Him,
coming to Him, and offering Him vinegar,
37 And saying, If thou be The King
Of The Jews, save thyself.

receive.
John 10:11,20
KJV

Good Shepherd: The Good Shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

35 Jesus wept.
John 12:23,24,27
KJV
23 And Jesus
answered them, saying, The hour is come, that The Son Of Man should
be glorified.
24 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground
and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much
fruit.
27 Now is My soul troubled; and what
shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour: but for this cause came
I unto this hour.

skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
23 Then the soldiers, when they had
crucified Jesus, took His garments, and made four parts, to every
soldier a part; and also His coat: now the coat was without seam,
woven from the top throughout.
24 They said therefore among
themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall
be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted
My raiment among them, and for My vesture they did cast lots. These
things therefore the soldiers did.
Acts 8:33 KJV

has been sacrificed for us.

all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins
according to the scriptures;

And that He died for all, that they
which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him
which died for them, and rose again.
II Corinthians
8:9 KJV
For ye know the grace of our Lord
Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became
poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.
Galatians 1:4,5

ever. Amen.

curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Ephesians 5:1,2
KJV
1 Be ye therefore followers of God,
as dear children;
2 And walk in love, as Christ also
hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a
sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savor.
Philippians
2:7,8 KJV
7 But made Himself of no reputation,
and took upon Him the form of A Servant, and was made in the likeness
of men:
8 And being found in fashion as A
Man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the
death of the cross.
Titus 2:13,14
KJV
13 Looking for that blessed hope,
and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus
Christ;
14 Who gave Himself for us, that He
might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar
people, zealous of good works.
Hebrews
2:9,10,16-18 NLT
9 What we do
see is Jesus, who for a little while was given a position “a little
lower than the angels”; and because He suffered death for us, He is
now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s Grace, Jesus
tasted death for everyone.
10 God, for
whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many
children into glory. And it was only right that He should make Jesus,
through His suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their
salvation.
16 We also know that The Son did not
come to help angels; He came to help the descendants of Abraham.
17 Therefore, it was necessary for
Him to be made in every respect like us, His brothers and sisters, so
that He could be our Merciful and Faithful High Priest before God.
Then He could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the
people.
18 Since He Himself has gone through
suffering and testing, He is able to help us when we are being
tested.
Hebrews 4:15 NLT
This High Priest of ours understands
our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we do, yet He
did not sin.
Hebrews 7:23-25
NLT
23 There were many priests under the
old system, for death prevented them from remaining in office.
24 But because Jesus lives forever,
His priesthood lasts forever.
25 Therefore He is able, once and
forever, to save those who come to God through Him. He lives forever
to intercede with God on their behalf.
Hebrews 9:26,28
NLT
26 "...But now, once for all
time, He has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by His own
death as a sacrifice.
28 so also Christ was offered once
for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He
will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to
all who are eagerly waiting for Him.
Hebrews 13:12
KJV
Wherefore Jesus also, that He might
sanctify the people with His own Blood, suffered without the gate.
I Peter 1:18,19
KJV
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were
not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your
vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with The Precious Blood Of
Christ, as of A Lamb Without blemish And Without Spot:
I Peter 2:21-24 KJV
21 For even hereunto were ye called:
because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye
should follow His steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile
found in His mouth:
23 Who, when He was reviled, reviled
not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself
to Him that judgeth righteously:
24 Who His own self bare our sins in
His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live
unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
I Peter 3:18 KJV
For Christ also hath once suffered
for sins, The Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God,
being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by The Spirit:
I John 3:5,16
KJV
5 And ye know that He was manifested
to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin.
16 Hereby perceive we the love of
God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down
our lives for the brethren.
Revelation 1:5,6
KJV
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is The
Faithful Witness, and The First Begotten Of The Dead, and The Prince
Of The Kings Of The Earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from
our sins in his own Blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests
unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and
ever. Amen.
Revelation
5:9,10 KJV
9 And they sung a new song, saying,
Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for
thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy Blood out of
every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God
kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Revelation
7:9,10 KJV
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a
great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and
kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and
before
The Lamb, clothed with white robes,
and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice,
saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon
the throne, and unto the Lamb.
Revelation
15:3,4 KJV
3 And they sing the song of Moses
the servant of God, and the song of The Lamb, saying, Great and
marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and True are thy
ways, thou King Of saints.
4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord,
and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall
come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
Revelation 21:22
KJV
And I saw no temple therein: for The
Lord God Almighty and The Lamb are the temple of it.
Dear friend, mere
words can not measure the pain and suffering our Lord endured,
because of our sins, and His great love for us!
As Christians,
every spiritual blessing we have and do receive has been bought and
paid for by our
Precious Savior.
II Corinthians
8:9 KJV
For ye know the grace of our Lord
Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became
poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.
Isaiah 50:6 KJV
I gave My back to the smiters, and
My cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not My face from
shame and spitting.
Isaiah 53:3-7
KJV
3 He was despised and rejected— A
Man Of Sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on
Him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.
4 Yet it was our weaknesses He
carried; it was our sorrows that weighed Him down. And we thought His
troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for His own sins!
5 But He was pierced for our
rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
6 All of us, like sheep, have
strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the
Lord laid on Him the sins of us all.
7 He was oppressed and treated

What A Friend We
Have In Jesus
What a friend we
have in Jesus,
All our sins and
griefs to bear!
What a privilege to
carry
Everything to God
in prayer!
O what peace we
often forfeit,
O what needless
pain we bear,
All because we do
not carry
Everything to God
in prayer.
Have we trials and
temptations?
Is there trouble
anywhere?
We should never be
discouraged;
Take it to The Lord
in prayer.
Can we find a
friend so faithful
Who will all our
sorrows share?
Jesus knows our
every weakness;
Take it to The Lord
in prayer.
Are we weak and
heavy laden,
Cumbered with a
load of care?
Precious Savior,
still our refuge,
Take it to The Lord
in prayer.
Do your friends
despise, forsake you?
Take it to The Lord
in prayer!
In His arms He’ll
take and shield you;
You will find a
solace there.
Blessed Savior,
Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our
burdens bear
May we ever, Lord,
be bringing
All to Thee in
earnest prayer.
Soon in glory
bright unclouded
There will be no
need for prayer
Rapture, praise and
endless worship
Will be our sweet
portion there.

Prayer:
John 3:16,17,36 KJV
16 For
God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the
world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
36
He that believeth on The Son hath everlasting Life: and he that
believeth not The Son shall not see Life; but the wrath of God
abideth on him.
