Bible Questions Answered:
“Why
did Jesus have to come to die to save people?...”
Arthur/

Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
God
gave Moses the Ten Commandments, but there were hundreds of other
commandments.
From Genesis to Deuteronomy, there are
some 613 Laws, and here is what James wrote concerning The Law.
James
2:10 KJV
For
whosoever shall keep the whole Law, and yet offend in one point, he
is guilty of all.
Mankind did not, could not keep all the written Laws.
God showed mankind that they could not keep themselves
from sin, so He devised another Way.
Romans
5:12,19 NLT
12
When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death,
so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.
19
Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because
one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
II
Corinthians 5:21 NLT
For
God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so
that we could be made right with God through Christ.
Romans
8:3 NLT
The
Law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our
sinful nature. So God did what The Law could not do. He sent His
own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that
body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving His Son
as a sacrifice for our sins.
Galatians
3:10-14 NLT
10
But those who depend on The Law to make them right with God are under
His curse, for The Scriptures say, “Cursed is everyone who does not
observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book
of The Law.”
11
So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to
keep The Law. For The Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a
righteous person has life.”
12
This way of faith is very different from the way of Law, which says,
“It is through obeying The Law that a person has life.”
13
But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by The Law.
When He was hung on the cross, He took upon Himself the curse for our
wrongdoing. For it is written in The Scriptures, “Cursed is
everyone who is hung on a tree.”
14
Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same
blessing He promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might
receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.
Romans
3:30,31 NLT
30
There is only one God, and He makes people right with Himself only by
faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.
31
Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget
about The Law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we
truly fulfill The Law.
Faith,
The Word:
John
1:12 KJV
But
as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of
God, even to them that believe on his name:
John
3:14-18,36 KJV
14
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must
The Son Of Man be lifted up:
15
That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal
life.
16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.
17
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through Him might be saved.
18
He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not
is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of The
Only Begotten Son Of God.
36
He that believeth on The Son hath everlasting life: and he that
believeth not The Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God
abideth on him.
John
5:24 KJV
Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him
that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John
20:31 KJV
But
these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is The Christ,
The Son Of God; and that believing ye might have life through His
name.
Acts
13:39 NLT
Everyone
who believes in Him is made right in God’s sight—something The
Law of Moses could never do.
Romans
10:9 KJV
That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth The Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved.
Ephesians
2:8,9 KJV
8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is The Gift Of God:
9
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
I
John 5:4 KJV
For
whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world: and this is the
victory that over cometh the world, even our faith.
Prayer:
John
6:40 KJV
And
this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth The
Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will
raise him up at the last day.
