Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Matthew
13:1-23 KJV
1
The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
2
And great multitudes were gathered together unto Him, so that He went
into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
3
And He spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a
sower went forth to sow;
I)
4
And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls
came and devoured them up:
19
When any one heareth The Word of the kingdom, and understandeth it
not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was
sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
II)
5
Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and
forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6
And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no
root, they withered away.
20
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that
heareth The Word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21
Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when
tribulation or persecution ariseth because of The Word, by and by he
is offended.
III)
7
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked
them:
22
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth The
Word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches,
choke The Word, and he becometh unfruitful.
IV)
8
But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an
hundredfold, some sixty fold, some thirty fold.
9
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
23
But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth The
Word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth
forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
10
And the disciples came, and said unto Him, Why speakest thou unto
them in parables?
11
He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know
the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12
For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more
abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even
that he hath.
13
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not;
and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias (Isaiah), which
saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing
ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of
hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they
should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should
understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should
heal them.
16
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they
hear.
17
For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have
desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and
to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
After our first day in heaven, there will be no question, as to what
should have been important to us on earth. Things that seem so
crucial now, will pale in the light of eternity.
7
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and
choked them:
22
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth The
Word; and the care of this world, and the
deceitfulness of riches, choke The Word, and he
becometh unfruitful.
Matthew 13:7 KJV shows us how critical it is to have Godly
friends, with Godly goals. Among the thorns are many who must keep up
with the Jones', or who must constantly be found in the company of
the socially elite. Whatever the reason, if it keeps you from filling
your time with and for The Lord, it is time wasted, in light of
eternity.
If God has removed some things from your life, and you wonder why,
perhaps it has been so that you may have more time for Him.
God's Child, Not To Be Snared By The Cares Of This World:
Matthew 6:22-24,33 NLT
22 “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body.
When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light.
23 But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with
darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness,
how deep that darkness is!
24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love
the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously,
and He will give you everything you need.
Matthew 10:16 KJV
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye
therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
John 14:15 KJV
If ye love Me, keep My commandments.
John 15:18-21 KJV
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated
you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but
because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the
world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember The Word that I said unto you, The servant is not
greater than his lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also
persecute you; if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours
also.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for My name's sake,
because they know not Him that sent Me.
Romans 8:13 KJV
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through
The Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Romans 12:1,2 KJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that
ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
II Corinthians 5:17 KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Galatians 2:20 KJV
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but
Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I
live by the faith of The Son Of God, who loved me, and gave Himself
for me.
Ephesians 2:10 KJV
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good
works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 5:1 KJV
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
Colossians 3:23 KJV
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to The Lord, and not unto
men;
I Timothy 6:10 KJV
For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some
people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced
themselves with many sorrows.
Hebrews 13:5 NLT
Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has
said,
“I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
James 1:27 NLT
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God The Father means
caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let
the world corrupt you.
James 4:4 NLT
You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world
makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend
of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.
I Peter 2:9 KJV
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy
nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of
Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
II Peter 1:3,4 NLT
3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for
living a Godly Life. We have received all of this by coming to know
Him, The One who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory
and excellence.
4 And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great
and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to
share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by
human desires.
I John 2:15-17 KJV
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of The Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the
lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of The Father, but is
of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that
doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Revelation 3:17 KJV
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have
need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and
miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Is Your All On The Altar?
You have longed for sweet peace,
And for faith to increase,
And have earnestly, fervently prayed;
But you cannot have rest,
Or be perfectly blest,
Until all on the altar is laid.
Chorus:
Is your all on the altar of sacrifice laid?
Your heart does the Spirit control?
You can only be blest,
And have peace and sweet rest,
As you yield Him your body and soul.
Would you walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
And have peace and contentment alway?
You must do His sweet will,
To be free from all ill,
On the altar your all you must lay.
Oh, we never can know
What the Lord will bestow
Of the blessings for which we have prayed,
Till our body and soul
He doth fully control,
And our all on the altar is laid.
Who can tell all the love
He will send from above,
And how happy our hearts will be made;
Of the fellowship sweet
We shall share at His feet,
When our all on the altar is laid.

Prayer:
Psalm 51:1-3,7,10-12,17 KJV
1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness:
according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my
transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be
whiter than snow.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within
me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit
from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy
Free Spirit.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite
heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
