Bible Lesson: Conversations With
Jesus: Know The Priorities Of Life.
Bible Text:
Luke 12:13-21 KJV
Bible Topic: Priorities.
Luke 12:22-40 KJV
22 And He said
unto His disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for
your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put
on.
23 The life is
more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 Consider the
ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse
nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the
fowls?
25 And which of
you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 If ye then
be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for
the rest?
27 Consider the
lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say
unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of
these.
28 If then God
so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is
cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little
faith?
29 And seek not
ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of
doubtful mind.
30 For all
these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father
knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather
seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto
you.
32 Fear not,
little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the
kingdom.
33 Sell that ye
have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a
treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth,
neither moth corrupteth.
34 For where
your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
35 Let your
loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
36 And ye
yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will
return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may
open unto him immediately.
37 Blessed are
those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching:
verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to
sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
38 And if he
shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find
them so, blessed are those servants.
39 And this
know, that if the good man of the house had known what hour the thief
would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to
be broken through.
40 Be ye
therefore ready also: for The Son Of Man cometh at an hour when ye
think not.
Priorities:
Exodus 20:3,5
KJV
3 Thou shalt
have no other gods before Me.
5 Thou shalt
not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I The Lord thy God
am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me;
Deuteronomy 6:5
KJV
And thou shalt
love The Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy might.
Psalm 16:8-11
KJV
8 I have set
The Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall
not be moved.
9 Therefore my
heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in
hope.
10 For thou
wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy
One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt
shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy
right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Psalm 90:12 KJV
So teach us to
number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Psalm 111:10 KJV
The fear of The
Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they
that do His commandments: His praise endureth for ever.
Proverbs 16:19
KJV
Better it is to
be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with
the proud.

He that
followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness,
and honor.

12:1 KJV
Remember now
thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not,

them;

He hath shewed
thee, O man, what is good; and what doth The Lord require of thee,
but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Matthew 5:6,24
KJV
6 Blessed are
they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall
be filled.
24 Leave there
thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy
brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Matthew
6:19,24,33 KJV
19 Lay not up
for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth
corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
24 “No one
can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you
will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God
and be enslaved to money.
33 But seek ye
first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things
shall be added unto you.
Matthew 10:37,38
KJV
37 He that
loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: and he that
loveth son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
38 And he that
taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me.
Matthew 18:1,2
KJV
1 At the same
time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in
the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus
called a little child unto Him, and set him in the midst of them,
Matthew 22:37,38
KJV
37 Jesus said
unto him, Thou shalt love The Lord thy God with all thy heart, and
with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the
first and great commandment.
Matthew 23:12,23
KJV
12 And
whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall
humble himself shall be exalted.
23 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and
anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law,
judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to
leave the other undone.
Matthew 28:18-20
KJV
18 And Jesus
came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in
heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye
therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of The
Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching
them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo,
I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his

KJV
28 And one of
the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and
perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, Which is the
first commandment of all?
29 And Jesus
answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel;
The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 And thou
shalt love The Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy
soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the
first commandment.
31 And the
second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these.
Luke 10:38-42
KJV
38 Now it came
to pass, as they went, that He entered into a certain village: and a
certain woman named Martha received Him into her house.
39 And she had
a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard His
word.
40 But Martha
was cumbered about much serving, and came to Him, and said, Lord,
dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid
her therefore that she help me.
41 And Jesus
answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and
troubled about many things:
42 But one
thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall
not be taken away from her.
Luke 12:29-31,34
KJV
29 And seek not
ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of
doubtful mind.
30 For all
these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father
knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather
seek ye The Kingdom Of God; and all these things shall be added unto
you.

your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow Me.
23 And when he
heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

keep My commandments.
Acts 20:24 KJV

have received of The Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace
of God.

affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring
one another;
I Corinthians
6:9-11,20 NLT
9 Don’t you
realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God?
Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who
worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or
practice homosexuality,
10 or are
thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat
people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.
11 Some of you
were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you
were made right with God by calling on the name of The Lord Jesus
Christ and by The Spirit of our God.
20 for God
bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
II Corinthians
5:9 KJV
Wherefore we
labor, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him.

time, because the days are evil.

live is Christ, and to die is gain.

2:3,4 KJV
3 Let nothing
be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let
each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not
every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of
others.
Philippians
3:13,14 KJV
13 Brethren, I
count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto
those things which are before,
14 I press
toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ
Jesus.
Philippians
4:6-8 NLT
6 Don’t worry
about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you
need, and thank Him for all He has done.
7 Then you will
experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.
His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ
Jesus.
8 And now, dear
brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is
true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.
Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Colossians 1:10
KJV
That ye might
walk worthy of The Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every

affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

KJV
1 I exhort
therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings,
and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and
peaceable life in all Godliness and honesty.
I Timothy 4:8
KJV
For bodily
exercise profiteth little: but Godliness is profitable unto all
things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is
to come.

NLT
Run from
anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous

those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.

faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must
believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently
seek Him.

Looking unto
Jesus The Author And Finisher Of Our Faith; who for the joy that was
set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set
down at the right hand of The Throne of God.
II Peter 3:11
KJV
Seeing then
that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons
ought ye to be in all holy conversation and Godliness,
I John 3:11,16
KJV
11 For this is
the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one
another.
16 Hereby
perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us:
and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Prayer:
