God is a Spirit:
Luke 24:39 KJV

Well, if John 14:9 doesn't refer to actually seeing The Father, what then does it refer to?
The Holy Father is seen by His attributes, attributes which men may share. Does God have attributes which men cannot share? Yes,
God's Incommunicable Attributes;
Eternal (infinite)
Unchangeable
Omnipresence (Every where existence)
Omnipotence (All powerful)
Omniscience (All knowing)
God's Communicable Attributes:
Holiness
Justice
Life
Love
Knowledge
Mercy
Personality
Truth
Wisdom
These attributes are shared with mankind. We see and know God by His attributes.
