Bible Texts:

Perseverance:

I Corinthians 15:58 KJV
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of The Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in The Lord.

Procrastination:

I Kings 18:21 KJV
And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if The Lord be God, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

The Word; Perseverance:

Psalm 16:8 KJV
I have set The Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Acts 20:19 KJV
Serving The Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

Romans 5:3,4 NLT
3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.
4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.

Romans 12:12 KJV
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

I Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud
5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever The Truth wins out.
7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Galatians 6:9 KJV
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Ephesians 6:18 KJV
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in The Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Philippians 3:14 KJV
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 1:9 KJV
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

I Timothy 6:12 KJV
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

II Timothy 2:12 KJV
If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us:

Hebrews 10:36 KJV
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Hebrews 12:1,2 KJV
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus The Author And Finisher Of Our Faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at The Right Hand Of The Throne Of God.

James 1:12 KJV
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which The Lord hath promised to them that love Him.

II Peter 1:5,6 NLT
5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s Promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge,
6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with Godliness,

Revelation 3:11 KJV
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

“You must not hold anything back when you give Me offerings from your crops and your wine.

Deuteronomy 23:21 KJV
When thou shalt vow a vow unto The Lord thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for The Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

Proverbs 6:2,4,6-8 NLT
2 if you have trapped yourself by your agreement and are caught by what you said
4 Don’t put it off; do it now! Don’t rest until you do.
6 Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise!
7 Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work,
8 they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.

Proverbs 15:19 NLT
A lazy person’s way is blocked with briers, but the path of the upright is an open highway.

Proverbs 22:13 NLT
The lazy person claims, “There’s a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!”

Proverbs 26:13-15 NLT
13 The lazy person claims, “There’s a lion on the road! Yes, I’m sure there’s a lion out there!”
14 As a door swings back and forth on its hinges, so the lazy person turns over in bed.
15 Lazy people take food in their hand but don’t even lift it to their mouth.

Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

3 If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.
4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.

Jeremiah 13:16 NLT
Give glory to The Lord your God before it is too late. Acknowledge Him before He brings darkness upon you, causing you to stumble and fall on the darkening mountains. For then, when you look for light, you will find only terrible darkness and gloom.

Matthew 8:21,22 KJV
21 And another of His disciples said unto Him, Lord, suffer (permit) me first to go and bury my father.
22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow Me; and let the dead bury their dead.

Matthew 25:1 -13 KJV
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein The Son Of Man cometh.

Luke 9:59-62 KJV

60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

II Corinthians 6:1 KJV
We then, as workers together with Him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

II Corinthians 8:10-14 NLT
10 Here is my advice: It would be good for you to finish what you started a year ago. Last year you were the first who wanted to give, and you were the first to begin doing it.
11 Now you should finish what you started. Let the eagerness you showed in the beginning be matched now by your giving. Give in proportion to what you have.
12 Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.
13 Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality.
14 Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal.

Prayer:

II Thesalonians 3:13 KJV
But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
