Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Colossians
3:12-17 NLT
12
Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe
yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility,
gentleness, and patience.
13
Make allowance for each others faults, and forgive anyone who offends
you. Remember, The Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
14
Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together
in perfect harmony.
15
And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as
members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be
thankful.
16
Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives.
Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom He gives. Sing
psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.
17
And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of The Lord
Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God The Father.
The Apostle Paul, speaks of the Christian life, and how
that it should be clothed with holy virtues.
As Christians, we are the “elect,” of God, chosen by
Him, before the foundations of the world, chosen in Christ.
Forgiveness and righteousness, have been imputed to all
who call Jesus Lord. We are cleansed by the precious Blood of Christ,
and seen as holy before The Father. Because we are loved by The
Father, we should clothe ourselves with the virtues of sympathy,
compassion, love, kindness, cordiality, humility, and lowliness of
mind.
In humility, a Christian always places himself, on a
lower level, than that of other believers.
Forbearing (Holding one another up), forgiveness, and
mercy, should be the traits of God's people.
As long as we are in the world, we are “not,”
perfect, and we will not be until we are united with The Lord..
I
John 3:2 KJV
Beloved,
now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall
be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for
we shall see Him as He is.
And because we are not perfect, we must be merciful and
overlook the faults of others, be forgiving and forbearing.
Romans
3:10 KJV
As
it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans
5:8 KJV
But
God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.
Our holy Lord, took our place in judgment, even while we
were all sinners, He our example, shows us how we must be to all
others.
As Christian people, we must wear the garment of love,
as the bond of perfection.
Love:
“Love causes us Christians to be of one mind, of one
heart, of one pleasure; it unites rich and poor, rulers and subjects,
sick and healthy, high and low, highly honored and despised.”
Luther
Our Lord, has reconciled us to The Father, now there is
peace between us. The Gospel of peace should abound in our hearts
and lives. “ And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in
your hearts.”
There is peace between God The Father and us, and there
must be peace between Christian brothers and sisters, for we are the
children of God, His elect, The Lord's body, on earth.
vs
16 “Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful
hearts.”
If indeed our hearts should be full of God's love, and
we should want to sing, and praise The Living God, for His goodness.
17
And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of The Lord
Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God The Father.
Whatever we do or say as God's children, we should bring
praise and honor to our Father in heaven in the name of The Lord
Jesus Christ.
Prayer:
Luke
11:28 KJV
"...
blessed are they that hear The Word Of God, and keep it."
Ephesians 1:3-8,13,14 NLT (Spiritual Blessings)
3
All praise to God, The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has
blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms
because we are united with Christ.
4
Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to
be holy and without fault in His eyes.
5
God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us
to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it
gave Him great pleasure.
6
So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who
belong to His dear Son.
7
He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom
with The Blood Of His Son and forgave our sins.
8
He has showered His kindness on us, along with all wisdom and
understanding.
13
And now you Gentiles have also heard The Truth, The Good News that
God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, He identified you as
His own by giving you The Holy Spirit, whom He promised long ago.
14
The Spirit is God’s guarantee that He will give us the inheritance
He promised and that He has purchased us to be His own people. He did
this so we would praise and glorify Him.
James
1:25 KJV
But
whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth
therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work,
this man shall be blessed in his deed.
