Bible Questions Answered:
“Jesus had sorrow at Lazarus grave...”
Sam/ Berkeley, California U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:
Hebrews 4:15 KJV
For we have not an High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities*; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

*Infirmities- Greek: Astheneia (As-then-i-ah): Feebleness (of body or mind); Maladies, frailties: disease, infirmity, sickness, weakness.

Did our Lord, know sorrow, yes, He wept on different occasions, here on earth.

John 11:32-36 KJV (Lazarus)
32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying unto Him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, He groaned in The Spirit, and was troubled,
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto Him, Lord, come and see.
35 Jesus wept.
36 Then said the Jews, Behold how He loved him!

Dear Christians, who mourn, the parting of a loved one. Jesus knows your sorrow!
He is “ touched with the feelings of our infirmities.”

Luke 19:41,42 KJV (Jerusalem)
41 And when He was come near, He beheld the city, and wept over it,
42 Saying, if thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

Does our Lord, weep over our city? And if He does, what is the dictate of our compassion, for the lost?

Mark 16:15 KJV
And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Luke 22:41-44 KJV (Gethsemane)
41 And He was with drawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from Me: nevertheless not My will, but thine, be done.
43 And there appeared an angel unto Him from heaven, strengthening Him.
44 And being in an agony He prayed more earnestly: and His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

John 13:15 KJV
For I have given you and example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

In Godly service, will there be tears, yes...and yet in faithfulness we are to pray...

Luke 22:42 KJV
“...nevertheless not My will, but thine, be done.”

I Peter 4:19 KJV
Wherefore, let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto A Faithful Creator.

Psalm 30:5 KJV
"...Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

Psalm 31:23 KJV
O love The Lord, all ye His saints: for The Lord preserveth the faithful..."

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which The Prince Of Glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His Blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
