Bible Lesson: Conversations With Jesus: Death, Then Glorification.

Bible Text:

John 12:20-36 KJV
20 And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
22 Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that The Son Of Man should be glorified
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto Life eternal.
26 If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any man serve Me, him will My Father honor.
27 Now is My soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to Him.
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of Me, but for your sakes.
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.
33 This He said, signifying what death He should die.
34 The people answered Him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son Of Man must be lifted up? who is this Son Of Man?
35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is The Light with you. Walk while ye have The Light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
36 While ye have Light, believe in The Light, that ye may be the children of Light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide Himself from them.
Jesus told His followers...

John 12;26 KJV
If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any man serve Me, him will My Father honor.

Those who serve The Father, will one day be honored by Him..
And now the day of The Son's Glorification was at hand.

John 12:23 KJV
And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that The Son Of Man should be glorified
The Lord Jesus, would not only call the Jews, to Himself, but the Greeks, and all Gentiles, but this would be only through His death.
John 12:32 KJV And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.
Jesus, gave the example of the corn of wheat.
John 12:24 KJV Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
Isaiah 53:1 -12 NKJV
1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of The Lord been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a Tender Plant, And as A Root Out Of Dry Ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man Of Sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken,Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as A Lamb to the slaughter, And as A Sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
9 And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth.
10 Yet it pleased The Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of The Lord shall prosper in His hand.
11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.
John 3:14-21 KJV (Numbers 21:4-8)
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must The Son Man be lifted up (This speaks of Calvary and our Lord's death. ed.):
15 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal Life.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting Life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of The Only Begotten Son Of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the Light, neither cometh to The Light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth Truth cometh to The Light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Jesus warned, to be His followers, they must die to the world and all it's allurements to follow Him.

John 13:15 KJV

He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for My sake shall find it.
Matthew 16:25 KJV
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it.
Mark 8:35 KJV
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for My sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
Luke 9:24 KJV
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
Luke 17:33 KJV
Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.14

I John 2:8 KJV
Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in Him and in you: because the darkness is past, and The True Light now shineth.
Must Jesus Bear The Cross Alone?
Must Jesus bead the cross alone, and all the world go free?
No, there's a cross for every one, And there's a cross for me.
The Consecrated cross I'll bear, Till death shall set me free,
And then go home my crown to wear, For there's a crown for me.
Upon the crystal pavement, down At Jesus pierced feet,
Joyful, I'll cast my golden crown, And His dear name repeat.
Oh! precious cross! Oh! Glorious crown! Oh! Resurrection day!
Ye angels, from the stars come down, And bear my soul away.

Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
28 Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.

John 6:37,40,47 KJV
37 “...him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.”

47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting Life.
