Bible Questions Answered:
“Jesus
said the pharisee was wrong, what did he do?...”

Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Matthew
6:5 KJV
And
when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they
love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the
streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They
have their reward.
The Pharisees prayed on the streets and street corners
to be seen of men. Much like the street musician of today's larger
cities, who plays and takes in offerings for his efforts.
Devote worshipers no doubt contributed financially to
the Pharisees loud and long prayers.

something.
The
American Heritage® Dictionary
This was not, the kind of followers Jesus wanted, for He
wishes worship from one's heart not the market-place.
Matthew 7:21-23 KJV (A church of ceremony and
sacrament)
21
Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is
in heaven (Acts 2:21 -A personal
relationship with Jesus Christ.)
22
Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied
in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name
done many wonderful works?
23
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart
from Me, ye that work iniquity.
When one's prayers and worship comes from forms and
ceremonies, one will need the audience of others.
Whereas when one prays in secret, from one's heart, we
know that God hears us.
Matthew
6:1-18 KJV
1
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them:
otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2
Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before
thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that
they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their
reward.
3
But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right
hand doeth:
4
That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in
secret Himself shall reward thee openly.
5
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for
they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of
the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you,
They have their reward.
6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou
hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy
Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Prayer:
Psalm
62:5--8 KJV
5
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.
6
He only is my Rock and my Salvation: He is my Defence; I shall not be
moved.
7
In God is my Salvation and my glory: The Rock of my strength, and my
Refuge, is in God.
8
Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him:
God is a Refuge for us. Selah.
