Bible Questions Answered:
“Because the church  is full of sin I don't want to be apart of it that's for sure!...
Jack/ Chicago, Illinois  U. S. A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

The Apostle Paul and our Lord, do not share  your view!

There was gross sin in the Corinthiian church, did  the Apostle Paul, say to close it up:?
Absolutely not!

I Corinthians 5:1-13 NLT (Paul Condemns Spiritual Pride)
1 I can hardly believe the report about the sexual immorality going on among you—something that even pagans don’t do. I am told that a man in your church is living in sin with his stepmother.
2 You are so proud of yourselves, but you should be mourning in sorrow and shame. And you should remove this man from your fellowship.

3 Even though I am not with you in person, I am with you in the Spirit. And as though I were there, I have already passed judgment on this man
4 in the name of The Lord Jesus. You must call a meeting of the church. I will be present with you in spirit, and so will the power of our Lord Jesus.
5 Then you must throw this man out and hand him over to Satan so that his sinful nature will be destroyed and he himself[e] will be saved on the day The Lord returns.

6 Your boasting about this is terrible. Don’t you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough?
7 Get rid of the old “yeast” by removing this wicked person from among you. Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.
8 So let us celebrate the festival, not with the old bread of wickedness and evil, but with the new bread of sincerity and truth.

9 When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin.
10 But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that.
11 I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people.

12 It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning.
13 God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.”

Did the Apostle say that they should close the church? Never! No, but they were to cast out the sinner from among them, five times the Apostle Paul said so!

Our Lord had been put out of synagogues, but yet we read....

Luke 4:16 KJV
And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

The Story:

Luke 4:14-30 NLT (Jesus Rejected at Nazareth)
14 Then Jesus returned to Galilee, filled with The Holy Spirit’s power. Reports about Him spread quickly through the whole region.
15 He taught regularly in their synagogues and was praised by everyone.

16 When He came to the village of Nazareth, His boyhood home, He went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read The Scriptures.
17 The Scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to Him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written:

18 “The Spirit Of The Lord is upon Me, for He has anointed Me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free,
19  and that the time of The Lord’s favor has come.”

20 He rolled up The Scroll, handed it back to the attendant, and sat down. All eyes in the synagogue looked at Him intently.
21 Then He began to speak to them. “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!”

22 Everyone spoke well of Him and was amazed by the gracious Words that came from His lips. “How can this be?” they asked. “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”

23 Then He said, “You will undoubtedly quote Me this proverb: ‘Physician, heal yourself’—meaning, ‘Do miracles here in your hometown like those you did in Capernaum.’
24 But I tell you The Truth, no prophet is accepted in his own hometown.

25 “Certainly there were many needy widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the heavens were closed for three and a half years, and a severe famine devastated the land.
26 Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them. He was sent instead to a foreigner—a widow of Zarephath in the land of Sidon.
27 And many in Israel had leprosy in the time of the prophet Elisha, but the only one healed was Naaman, a Syrian.”

28 When they heard this, the people in the synagogue were furious.
29 Jumping up, they mobbed Him and forced Him to the edge of the hill on which the town was built. They intended to push Him over the cliff,
30 but He passed right through the crowd and went on His way.

Did Jesus ever suggest that the synagogues should be closed? Never!
Is there a time to leave a church, Yes, if the pastor is preaching false, non Biblical doctrines!

II Timothy 2:15 KJV
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The Church:

Ephesians 2:19-22 KJV
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

I Peter 2:3-9 KJV
3 If so be ye have tasted that The Lord is gracious.
4 To whom coming, as unto A Living Stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in The Scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion A Chief Corner Stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, The Stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made The Head Of The Corner,
8 And A Stone of Stumbling, and A Rock Of Offence, even to them which stumble at The Word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;

The Church Of Jesus Christ, Is The Body Of Christ.

Matthew 18:20 KJV
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.

John 2:19-22 KJV
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
21 But He spake of the temple of His body.
22 When therefore He was risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this unto them; and they believed The Scripture, and The Word which Jesus had said.

Romans 12:4-8 KJV
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

I Corinthians 10:16,17 KJV
16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of The Blood Of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

I Corinthians 12:12-31 NLT (All Christian people are a part of The Lord's Body, the church, this is a work of The Holy Spirit.)
12 The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.
13 Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.

14 Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part.
15 If the foot says, “I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that does not make it any less a part of the body.
16 And if the ear says, “I am not part of the body because I am not an eye,” would that make it any less a part of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything?

18 But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where He wants it.
19 How strange a body would be if it had only one part!
20 Yes, there are many parts, but only one body.
21 The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.”

22 In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary.
23 And the parts we regard as less honorable are those we clothe with the greatest care. So we carefully protect those parts that should not be seen,
24 while the more honorable parts do not require this special care. So God has put the body together such that extra honor and care are given to those parts that have less dignity.
25 This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other.
26 If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.

27 All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.
28 Here are some of the parts God has appointed for the church:

first are apostles,
second are prophets,
third are teachers,
then those who do miracles,
those who have the gift of healing,
those who can help others,
those who have the gift of leadership,
those who speak in unknown languages.

29 Are we all apostles? Are we all prophets? Are we all teachers? Do we all have the power to do miracles?
30 Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown languages? Of course not!

31 So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts.
But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all.
(Continued at I Corinthians 13-the Love chapter)

Galatians 3:27 KJV
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Ephesians 1: 22,23 KJV
22 And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be The Head over all things to the church,
23 Which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.

Ephesians 2:19-22 KJV
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being The Chief Corner Stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in The Lord:
22 In whom ye also are built together for an habitation of God through The Spirit.

Ephesians 4:4,11,12,14-16,25 KJV
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
11 And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking The Truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is The Head, even Christ:
(Head of the body, the church).
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.

Ephesians 5:2329,30 KJV
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is The Head of the church: and He is the savior of the body.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as The Lord the church:
30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.

Colossians 1:18,24 NLT
18 And He is The Head of the body, the church: who is The Beginning, The Firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.
24 I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for His body, the church.

Colossians 2:19 NLT
"... Christ, The Head of the body. For He holds the whole body together with its joints and ligaments, and it grows as God nourishes it.

Colossians 3:15 NLT
And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

The Church's One Foundation

The church has one foundation,
’Tis Jesus Christ her Lord;
She is His new creation,
Through water by The Word.
From heav’n He came and sought her
To be His holy bride;
With His Own Blood He bought her,
And for her life He died.

Elect from every nation,
Yet one o’er all the earth,
Her charter of salvation—
One Lord, one faith, one birth.
One holy name she blesses,
Partakes one holy food;
And to one hope she presses,
With every grace endued.

Long with a scornful wonder
Men saw her sore oppressed,
By schisms rent asunder,
By heresies distressed.
Yet saints their watch were keeping
To hail a brighter day,
When God should stop their weeping,
Take their reproach away.

The evening sun is shining,
The cloudy day is past;
The time of their repining
Is at an end at last.
The voice of God is calling
To unity again;
Division walls are falling,
With all the creeds of men.

Back to the one foundation,
From sects and creeds made free,
Come saints of every nation
To blessed unity.
Once more the ancient glory
Shines as in days of old,
And tells the wondrous story—
One God, one faith, one fold.

Prayer:

I John 5:1,11-13 KJV
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is The Christ has become a child of God..."
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us Eternal Life, and this Life is in His Son.
12 He that hath The Son hath Life; and he that hath not The Son Of God hath not Life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of The Son Of God; that ye may know that ye have Eternal Life, and that ye may believe on the name of The Son Of God.
