Bible Lesson: Marks Of Godly Character Versus Marks Of Non-Christian Character: Gratitude Versus Ingratitude.

Bible Texts:

Gratitude:

Luke 17:11-19 NLT (Ten Healed of Leprosy)

11 As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, He reached the border between Galilee and Samaria.

12 As He entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance,

13 crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

14 He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.

15 One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!”

16 He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking Him for what He had done. This man was a Samaritan.

17 Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine?

18 Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”

19 And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.”

Ingratitude:

Romans 1:18-23 NLT (God’s Anger at Sin)

18 But God shows His anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress The Truth by their wickedness.

19 They know The Truth about God because He has made it obvious to them.

20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship Him as God or even give Him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.

22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.

23 And instead of worshiping The Glorious, Ever-Living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.

II Corinthians 4:14,15 NLT

14 We know that God, who raised The Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to Himself together with you.

15 All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.
