Proverbs 20:27 NLT
The Lord’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.

The Word:

Genesis 22:1,2 NLT
1 Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called. “Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”
2 “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”

Exodus 15:22-25 NLT (Bitter Water at Marah)
22 Then Moses led the people of Israel away from the Red Sea, and they moved out into the desert of Shur. They traveled in this desert for three days without finding any water.
23 When they came to the oasis of Marah, the water was too bitter to drink. So they called the place Marah (which means “bitter”).

24 Then the people complained and turned against Moses. “What are we going to drink?” they demanded.
25 So Moses cried out to The Lord for help, and The Lord showed him a piece of wood. Moses threw it into the water, and this made the water good to drink. It was there at Marah that The Lord set before them the following decree as a standard to test their faithfulness to Him.

Exodus 16:4 NLT (Manna and Quail from heaven)
Then The Lord said to Moses, “Look, I’m going to rain down food from heaven for you. Each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they need for that day. I will test them in this to see whether or not they will follow My instructions.

Exodus 18:18-20 NLT
18 When the people heard the thunder and the loud blast of the ram’s horn, and when they saw the flashes of lightning and the smoke billowing from the mountain, they stood at a distance, trembling with fear.
19 And they said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen. But don’t let God speak directly to us, or we will die!”
20 “Don’t be afraid,” Moses answered them, “for God has come in this way to test you, and so that your fear of Him will keep you from sinning!”

Deuteronomy 8:1,2,16 NLT
1 “Be careful to obey all The Commands I am giving you today. Then you will live and multiply, and you will enter and occupy the land The Lord swore to give your ancestors.
2 Remember how The Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey His commands.
16 He fed you with manna in the wilderness, a food unknown to your ancestors. He did this to humble you and test you for your own good.

Deuteronomy 13:1-4 NLT
1“Suppose there are prophets among you or those who dream dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles,
2 and the predicted signs or miracles occur. If they then say, ‘Come, let us worship other gods’—gods you have not known before—
3 do not listen to them. The Lord your God is testing you to see if you truly love Him with all your heart and soul.
4 Serve only The Lord your God and fear Him alone. Obey His commands, listen to His voice, and cling to Him.

Judges 2:20-23 NLT
20 So The Lord burned with anger against Israel. He said, “Because these people have violated My covenant, which I made with their ancestors, and have ignored My commands,
21 I will no longer drive out the nations that Joshua left unconquered when he died.
22 I did this to test Israel—to see whether or not they would follow the ways of The Lord as their ancestors did.”
23 That is why The Lord left those nations in place. He did not quickly drive them out or allow Joshua to conquer them all.

Judges 3:1,4 NLT
1 These are the nations that The Lord left in the land to test those Israelites who had not experienced the wars of Canaan. 4 These people were left to test the Israelites—to see whether they would obey The Commands The Lord had given to their ancestors through Moses.

Psalm 26:2 KJV
Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

Psalm 26:2 NLT
Put me on trial, Lord, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and my heart.

John 6:5,6 NLT
5 Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for Him. Turning to Philip, He asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?”
6 He was testing Philip, for He already knew what He was going to do.
Acts 16:22:25 NLT (Tested Under Persecution)
22 A mob quickly formed against Paul and Silas, and the city officials ordered them stripped and beaten with wooden rods. 23 They were severely beaten, and then they were thrown into prison. The jailer was ordered to make sure they didn’t escape.
24 So the jailer put them into the inner dungeon and clamped their feet in the stocks.
25 Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.

I Corinthians 11:23-31 NLT (Order at The Lord’s Supper)
23 For I pass on to you what I received from The Lord Himself. On the night when He was betrayed, The Lord Jesus took some bread
24 and gave thanks to God for it. Then He broke it in pieces and said, “This is My Body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”
25 In the same way, He took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is The New Covenant between God and His people—an agreement confirmed with My Blood. Do this in remembrance of Me as often as you drink it.”
26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing The Lord’s death until He comes again.

27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of The Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against The Body and Blood of The Lord.
28 That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup.
29 For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring The Body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself.
30 That is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died.

31 But if we would examine ourselves, we would not be judged by God in this way.
32 Yet when we are judged by The Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned along with the world.

James 1:1-4 NLT (Faith and Endurance)
1 This letter is from James, a slave of God and of The Lord Jesus Christ..." Greetings!
2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.
3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

Prayer :

Psalm 19:14 KJV
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
