Renewing Of The Holy Spirit

Bible Questions Answered:
“How do I pray for the renewing of the Holy Spirit?...”
Betty/ Liverpool, England United Kingdom

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

Titus 3:5 KJV
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration*, and renewing* of The Holy Ghost;

*Regeneration-Greek: Paliggenesia (Pal-ing-ghen-es-ee-ah): Spiritual -rebirth; spiritual renovation; Messianic restoration: regeneration.

*Renewing-Greek: Anakainosis (An-ak-ah-ee-no-sis): Renovation: renewing.

Regeneration, has to do with spiritual rebirth, that is being born again.

John 3:3 KJV
Jesus answered and said unto him (Nicodemus), Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be
born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Now concerning the subject of “renewing* of The Holy Ghost;) Titus 3:5 KJV
This is nothing we must pray for, The Holy Spirit, performs this in our life, when we determine to live our life, to please The Lord.

Romans 12:1,2 KJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed* by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

*Transformed-Greek: Metamorphoo (Met-am-or-fo-o): To transform: change, transfigure, transform.

Colossians 1:13 KJV
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated* us into the kingdom of His Dear Son:

*Translated-Greek: Methistemi (Meth_is-tay-mee): To transfer, carry away, remove , translate, away.

The Apostle Paul's words here, speak of our yieldedness. As we yield to The Lord, The Holy Spirit renews us in mind and spirit, He transforms us.

Our prayer, should not be to direct The Holy Spirit, to do what He is pledged to do, but rather that we would daily commit ourselves to doing the will of God. Reading His Word, confessing His saving grace, living in obedience to His Word, etc. etc. As we do, The Blessed Holy Spirit, renews us into God's image.

II Corinthians 3:18 KJV
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of The Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by The Spirit Of The Lord.

Yieldedness:

II Chronicles 34:29-33 NLT (Josiah’s Religious Reforms)
29 Then the king summoned all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.
30 And the king went up to the Temple of The Lord with all the people of Judah and Jerusalem, along with the priests and the Levites—all the people from the greatest to the least. There the king read to them the entire Book of the Covenant that had been found in The Lord’s Temple.
31 The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in
The Lord’s presence. He pledged to obey The Lord by keeping all His commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. He promised to obey all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll.
32 And he required everyone in Jerusalem and the people of Benjamin to make a similar pledge. The people of Jerusalem did so, renewing their covenant with God, the God of their ancestors.

Psalm 51:10 KJV
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Isaiah 40:31 KJV
But they that wait upon The Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Luke 22:42 KJV
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from Me: nevertheless not My will, but thine, be done.

Romans 8:12-14 NLT
12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.
13 For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of The Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.
14 For all who are led by The Spirit Of God are children of God.

II Corinthians 4:16 KJV
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Colossians 3:10 KJV
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him:

Hebrews 10:16 KJV
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith The Lord, I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

Dear friend, as we surrender our lives to The Savior, we are by God's Spirit, changed into, His likeness.

II Corinthians 5:17 KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Have Thine Own Way

Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Thou art the potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after thy will,
while I am waiting, yielded and still.

Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Search me and try me, Savior today!
Wash me just now, Lord, wash me just now,
as in thy presence humbly I bow.

Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Hold o'er my being absolute sway.
Fill with thy Spirit till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me!

Prayer:

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

John 6:37,40,47 KJV
37 “...him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.”
40 And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth The Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting Life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.
