Bible Lesson: Cherished Promises To
The Child Of God: For Those Who Forgive.
Bible Text:
Matthew 6:14,15 KJV
14 For if ye forgive men their
trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their
trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
The Lord's Request:
14 “For if ye
forgive men their trespasses,...”
The Lord's Promise:
14
“...your
heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But
if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father
forgive your trespasses.”
What
an awesome statement. Let no one misunderstand, if you say you are a
Christian, go to church, do charitable works for the poor, and live
an honest life, and you harbor hatred to someone in your life, YOU ARE “NOT,” GOING TO HEAVEN!
Read it again, and
again.
If our crucified
Lord, could hang from His cross, and pray....
Luke 23:33,34 KJV
33 And when
they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they
crucified Him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the
other on the left.
34 Then said
Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not
what they do..."
If He could pray that, having been despised, and condemned to death,
by His own people, while nailed to a cross by Roman soldiers, yet
praying in His death, “Father, forgive them,” we can never
ourselves, ever be any exception!
No earthly man with all his religious works and with a heart filled
with hatred towards one or many, will ever march into heaven.
Forgiveness, and restitution, when at all possible, is required of
each and every Christian!
With out that YOU ARE “NOT,” GOING TO HEAVEN!
“Pastor,
that's your opinion, my church has never taught anything like that!”
Here is what
Jesus Christ taught...
Matthew 6:12,14,15 KJV
12
and forgive us our sins, as
we have forgiven those who sin against us.(The
Lord's Prayer)
14
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will
also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive
not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive
your trespasses.
And sinners have “no,” admittance into the kingdom of heaven.
Revelation 21:27
KJV
And there shall
in no wise enter into it (heaven) any thing that defileth, neither
whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are
written in The Lamb's Book Of Life.
What The Bible Say About ….
Forgiveness:
Matthew 5:22-26,38-48 KJV
22 But I say unto
you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall
be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother,
Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say,
Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
23 Therefore if
thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy
brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift
before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother,
and then come and offer thy gift.
25 Agree with thine
adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any
time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver
thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26
Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till
thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
38
Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth
for a tooth:
39
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall
smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40
And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let
him have thy cloak also.
41
And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee
turn not thou away.
43
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor,
and hate thine enemy.
44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do
good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use
you, and persecute you;
45
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He
maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain
on the just and on the unjust.
46
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even
the publicans the same?
47
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do
not even the publicans so?
48
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is
perfect.
Matthew 18:21-35 KJV (The unmerciful servant.)
21
Then came Peter to Him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin
against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22 Jesus
saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until
seventy times seven.
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven
likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his
servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was
brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25
But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be
sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to
be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshiped
him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27
Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed
him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went
out, and found one of his fellow servants, which owed him an hundred
pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying,
Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellow servant fell down
at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I
will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast
him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 So when
his fellow servants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came
and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his
lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked
servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33
Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow servant,
even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and
delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due
unto him.
35 So likewise shall My heavenly Father do also
unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother
their trespasses.
Mark 11:25,26 KJV
25 And
when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that
your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your
Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Luke
6:27-37 NLT
27
“But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do
good to those who hate you.
28
Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. 29 If someone
slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone
demands your coat, offer your shirt also. 30 Give to anyone who asks;
and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them
back.
31
Do to others as you would like them to do to you.
32
“If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for
that? Even sinners love those who love them!
33
And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you
get credit? Even sinners do that much!
34
And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, why should you
get credit? Even sinners will lend to other sinners for a full
return.
35
“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting
to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and
you will truly be acting as children of
The
Most High, for He is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.
36
You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.
37 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.
Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive
others, and you will be forgiven.
Luke 17:3,4 KJV
3 Take heed to yourselves:
If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent,
forgive him.
4 And if he trespass against thee seven times
in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I
repent; thou shalt forgive him.
Acts
7:59,60 NLT
59
As they stoned him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my
spirit.”
60
He fell to his knees, shouting, “Lord, don’t charge them with
this sin!” And with that, he died.
Romans
12:17-21 NLT
17
Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that
everyone can see you are honorable.
18
Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
19
Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger
of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay
them back,” says The Lord.
20
Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are
thirsty, give them something to drink.
In
doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.”
21
Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.
Ephesians 4:32 KJV
And be ye kind one to
another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for
Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Colossians 3:12,13
KJV
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and
beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness,
long suffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving
one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ
forgave you, so also do ye.
I
Thessalonians 5:15 KJV
See
that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that
which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
James
5:16 NLT
Confess
your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be
healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and
produces wonderful results.
I
Peter 3:8-12 NLT
8
Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each
other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and
keep a humble attitude.
9
Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when
people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is
what God has called you to do, and He will grant you His blessing.
10
For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many
happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from
telling lies.
11
Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to
maintain it.
12
The eyes of The Lord watch over those who do right, and His ears are
open to their prayers. But The Lord turns His face against those who
do evil
I
John 1:8-10 KJV
8
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and The Truth is
not in us.
9
If we confess our sins, He is Faithful and Just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word
is not in us.
I John 3:15 KJV
Whosoever hateth his
brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life
abiding in him.
Dear Lord And Father Of
Mankind
Dear Lord and Father Of Mankind,
Forgive our foolish ways!
Reclothe us in our rightful mind,
In purer lives Thy service find,
In deeper reverence, praise.
In simple trust like theirs who heard
Beside the Syrian sea
The gracious calling of The Lord,
Let us, like them, without a word
Rise up and follow Thee.
O Sabbath rest by Galilee!
O calm of hills above,
Where Jesus knelt to share with Thee
The silence of eternity
Interpreted by love!
Drop Thy still dews of quietness,
Till all our strivings cease;
Take from our souls the strain and
stress,
And let our ordered lives confess
The beauty of Thy peace.
Breathe through the heats of our desire
Thy coolness and Thy balm;
Let sense be dumb, let flesh retire;
Speak through the earthquake, wind, and
fire,
O still, small voice of calm.

John 5:1,11-13 KJV
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus
is The Christ has become a child of God..."
11 And this is the record, that God
hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He that hath The Son hath Life;
and he that hath not The Son Of God hath not Life.
13 These things have I written unto
you that believe on the name of The Son Of God; that ye may know that
ye have eternal Life, and that ye may believe on the name of The Son
Of God.
