Bible Questions Answered: Tartaros

Bible Questions Answered:
What happened to the angels that sinned with Lucifer?
John/ Porto Alegre, South America

Bible Answers:
Lucifer was not alone, when he rebelled against God.

Revelation 12:3,4,7-9 KJV
[3] And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon (Satan), having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
[4] And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven*, and did cast them to the earth: ...”
[7] And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
[8] And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
[9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

*The Dragon, in scripture, represents Satan, the serpent.
*The third part of the stars of heaven (refers to other angles, that fell with Lucifer.)

Revelation 12:3,4,7-9 NLT
3 Then I witnessed in heaven another significant event. I saw a large red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, with seven crowns on his heads.
4 His tail swept away one-third of the stars in the sky, and he threw them to the earth...
7 Then there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels.
8 And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven.
9 This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.

Many of the powerful angels that fell with Lucifer, are kept in chains in darkness, awaiting judgment.

Jude 6 KJV
[6] And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Jude 6 NLT
6 And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them securely chained in prisons of darkness, waiting for the great day of judgment.

II Peter 2:4 KJV
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell*, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

* Hell: Tartaros (Greek): The deepest abyss of hades. To incarcerate in eternal torment. Cast down to hell. (Abingdon Strong)

II Peter 2:4 NLT
For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, in gloomy pits of darkness where they are being held until the day of judgment.

Throngs of lesser ranked angels-spirits (demons), are presently the slaves of Satan.

Matthew 7:22 KJV
Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy Name? and in Thy Name have cast out devils? and in Thy Name done many wonderful works?

Reward for Satan and his angels.

Matthew 25:41 KJV
Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from Me, ye cursed, into
everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Revelation 20:10 KJV
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Bible Questions Answered: Sin Offering -No More

Bible Questions Answered:
What does Hebrews 10:26,27 mean?
Helen/ Providence, Massachusetts

Bible Answers:

Hebrews 10:26,27 KJV
[26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
[27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 10:26,27 NLT
26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins.
27 There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume His enemies.

The book of Hebrews, was written, primarily to the Hebrews, the Jews.

They from the beginning under Abraham, God's followers under Covenant, made sacrifices for sin.
But the writer to the Hebrews here says, ....

Hebrews 10:1-4 KJV
[1] For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
[2] For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshipers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
[3] But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
[4] For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Hebrews 10:1-4 NLT
1 The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship.
2 If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.
3 But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year.
4 For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

These sacrifices, covered their sins, but never cleansed them of their sins.
But now Christ, God's Precious Son, has come to do away for ever sacrifices for sin, by the perfect sacrifice for sin, namely His own body and blood as a sacrifice, which is acceptable unto God.

Hebrews 10:5-39 KJV
[5] Wherefore when He cometh into the world, He saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared Me:
[6] In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
[7] Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me,) to do thy will, O God.
[8] Above when He said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
[9] Then said he, Lo, I come to do Thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
[10] By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Not to be sacrificed again and again.)
[11] And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
[12] But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
[13] From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool.
[14] For by one offering (Not countless offerings.) He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
[15] Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that He had said before,
[16] This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
[17] And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
[18] Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering (One sacrifice for all.) for sin.
[19] Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
[20] By a new and living way, which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh;
[21] And having an High Priest over the house of God;
[22] Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
[23] Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;)
[24] And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
[25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
[26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
[27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
[28] He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
[29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
[30] For we know Him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto Me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge His people.
[31] It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
[32] But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
[33] Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
[34] For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
[35] Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
[36] For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
[37] For yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
[38] Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him.
[39] But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Hebrews 10:5-39 NLT
5 That is why, when Christ came into the world, He said to God,“You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given Me a body to offer.
6 You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin.
7 Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God— as is written about Me in the Scriptures.’”
8 First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses).
9 Then He said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect.
10 For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.
11 Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins.
12 But our High Priest offered Himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time (Sacrifices finished, because of the Perfect sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.). Then He sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
13 There He waits until His enemies are humbled and made a footstool under His feet.
14 For by that one offering He forever made perfect those who are being made holy.
15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For He says,
16 “This is the new covenant I will make with My people on that day, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
17 Then He says,“I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.”
18 And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices (Christ was sacrificed once for all.).
19 And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus.
20 By His death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.
21 And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house,
22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting Him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.
24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.
25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.
26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins.
27 There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume His enemies.
28 For anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us.
30 For we know the one who said,“I will take revenge. I will pay them back.”
He also said,“The Lord will judge His own people.”
31 It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ.
Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering.
33 Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things.
34 You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever.
35 So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!
36 Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised.
37 “For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.
38 And My righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.”
39 But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.

Christ has become our “Perfect-High Priest,” having put our sins away, cleansing us of them, forever through the sacrifice of His body and blood.

Jeremiah 31:33,34 KJV [33] But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people.
[34] And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Hebrews 10:26,27 KJV
[26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
[27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 10:26-31 NLT
I will pay them back.”He also said,“The Lord will judge His own people.” 31 It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Hebrews 6:4-6 KJV
[4] For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the Heavenly Gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
[5] And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
[6] If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame.

Hebrews 6:4-6 NLT
4 For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit,
5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come—
6 and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing Him to the cross once again and holding Him up to public shame.

This sin, is not random, and unintentional, as in backsliding, from which Christians are forgiven, under the Grace of God, when they repent and confess their failures.
Rather, this sin referred to here is deliberate, and repetitive, and without remorse.
This has to do with committing the unpardonable sin.
See The Bible Prayer Line – Index: The Unpardonable Sin.

For a person who has received the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, and then who openly defiantly turn back to their ways of sin, knowing that this is sin, and who defiantly do so, time and time again, with no remorse, ...this is the unpardonable sin.

When a man or a woman, fleas a burning city, crossing over a bridge of salvation to escape.
Who later defiantly decide to return to the city, as Lot's wife did, they literally are burning the one and only bridge of escape.

Someone who has known the Lord, and tasted of His forgiveness and infilling of His Spirit, and who returns to his former life of sin, knowing that it is sin, and who not only knows that it is sin, and wrong, but covets it's practice, to him the door of salvation is forever closed.

If someone refuses to leave a burning building....and all the begging and warning, does no good, that person, will be burnt. And the reason he is, is because he has demanded it to be so.

Hebrews 10:26,27 KJV
[26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
[27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Bible Questions Answered: Assurance Of Salvation

Bible Questions Answered:
I prayed a sinners prayer with a man on the street, I did not know, but I do not feel like this did anything. What do I do now.
Lorenz/ Malaren, Sweden

Bible Answer:
How typical this is for many.
Salvation is not based, upon feelings, but “Thus saith the Lord.”

John 3:16,36 KJV
[16] For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

[36] He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

If you have believed, you have received!

Romans 5:1 KJV
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 8:1 KJV
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

I John 1:9 KJV
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

John 5:24 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

I John 5:11-13 KJV
[11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
[12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
[13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

John 1:12 KJV
But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:

Acts 13:38,39 KJV
[38] Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this Man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
[39] And by Him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Acts 16:31 KJV
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Hebrews 7:24-26 KJV
[24] But this Man (Jesus Christ), because He continueth ever, hath an unchangeable Priesthood.
[25] Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.
[26] For such an High Priest became us, who is Holy, Harmless, Undefiled, Separate from sinners, and made Higher than the heavens;

If you have prayed the sinners prayer, confessed your sinfulness, and taken Jesus Christ, as your Saviour, and Lord, you are a child of God.
Take your stand on the Word of God.
Now, live for your new Master, the Lord Jesus.
Read His Word, hid it in your heart.

Romans 10;17 KJV
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Matthew 4:4 KJV
But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Confess your faith ....

Romans 10:9,10 KJV
[9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:9,10 NLT
9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.

Then remember The Apostle Paul's words...

Hebrews 10:24,25 KJV
[24] And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
[25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Hebrews 10:24,25 NLT
24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.
25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.

You need the encouragement of others, and others need the encouragement that you can give.

Bible Questions Answered: Infants Death

Bible Questions Answered:
I have been wondering for some time, are babies that die, in accidents, or at birth, etc. lost?
Helen/ Chiba, Japan

Bible Answers:
Certainly not! Our Saviour said of the children...

Matthew 19:13-15 KJV
[13] Then were there brought unto Him little children, that He should put His hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
[14] But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto Me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
[15] And He laid His hands on them, and departed thence.

Matthew 19:13-15 NLT
13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so He could lay His hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering Him.
14 But Jesus said, “Let the children come to Me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
15 And He placed His hands on their heads and blessed them before He left.

All mankind after Adam, have been born under the curse of sin.

Romans 5:17-19 KJV
[17] For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
[18] Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
[19] For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Romans 5:17-19 NLT
17 For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His Gift of Righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.
19 Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.

I Corinthians 15:22 KJV
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Though all are born under sin, a child has not reached the age of accountability, to make spiritual, moral decisions.

Jesus Christ, Saviour of the world.

I Timothy 2:6 KJV

Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

I Timothy 2:6 KJV NLT
He gave His life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.

John 1:29 KJV
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

I John 2:1,2 KJV
[1] My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous:
[2] And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Someone's being forever lost is predicated upon two things.
1)Under the curse of sin.
2)Rejection of the Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Little children, though under the curse of sin, have not rejected the Saviour.
They are saved, by the precious blood of Christ.

When a child grows into a young man or woman, and has reached the age of accountability, then the decision is theirs, to accept or reject the Saviour of the World.

Acts 2:21 KJV
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Prayer Request: Prayer For Healing

Please, Pray that I will be able to breath and sleep very well whenever I go to bed.
I have had many surgeries and I believe that the only solution is God.
MacDonald O.

Thank you for remembering MacDonald in your prayers!

Isaiah 53:1-5 KJV
[1] Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
[2] For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground:
He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.
[3] He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.
[4] Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
[5] But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

I Peter 2:24 KJV
Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Prayer Request: Prayer for Victory

Dear Rev.
I am not doing too well health-wise, financially, or spiritually. I am in the deepest depths of hell/depression (which I did bring on) as Job was; however his God rescued him; I don't think that is going to happen in my case.
Thomas T.

Dear friends, would you please pray for Thomas, the enemy has come to rob him of his joy, and nearness to the Saviour.
John 10:10 KJV
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

God knows where Thomas is, and He will see you, if your pray for this dear brother!

Mark 9:41 KJV
For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in My name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

Prayer Request: Job/home

My husband lost his job December 28th. We are going to try to sell our house, constantly looking for a job, but it would take a job making $24.00 an hour just to keep us in this house. That's a lot of pressure on him for another 20 years to pay it off, if nothing like this happens again.”
Please remember us in prayer
Signed Judy M.

God knows, just where this family lives!
Let's pray that He in a wonderful way shows to them, His Love and Mercy!

Psalm 9:10 KJV
And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.

Prayer Request: Prayers of Thanks to the Lord

Prayers of thanks to the Lord:

January 15th, a miracle took place in New York's Hudson River.
One hundred and fifty five people, who crashed in the river, with their Airbus 1549 -A320 Airbus, airplane, all survived, thanks to a living God who heard the many prayers of passengers who prayer out loud, after their expert Pilot Chesley Sullenberger, announced “Brace for impact!”

The plane was only some three and a half minutes into it's flight leaving New York, when the plane flew into a flock of ducks.
Both large jet engines, flamed out.
The Pilot, decided the thing to do was to ditch the plane in the Hudson River.

A large plane, one hundred and seventy thousand pounds, hitting the water at 150-200 miles usually would break up into many pieces, and many planes have.
Airbus 320, hit the waters of the Hudson River and remained totally intact.
Nearby boats, came to the aid of passengers.

On survivor reportedly said, after the Captains announcement we knew for sure something was terribly wrong.
The large airplane had run into a gathering of birds, which had taken out both of its large jet engines.
Captain Chesley had only seconds to decide what to do. Survivors, shook his hand and told him, just how thankful they were for his wonderful quick thinking and actions.

America's president, President George Bush, called the Captain, to congratulate him on his great life saving landing.
New York's Mayor Michael Bloomberg, called the Captain, a hero, and prepared to give Captain Sullenberger, a key to the city.

Though the ditched aircraft immediately began to take on water, the Captain, was the last one off of the plane.

For all of you who have written about this story, yes, indeed this is a time to give thanks to the Lord, who answers prayers, just ask one hundred and fifty five people in New York City.

Proverbs 18:10 KJV
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Psalms 91:1-16 NLT
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him.
3 For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
8 Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.
9 If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.
11 For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
14 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name.
15 When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life and give them My salvation.

Psalms 121:7,8 KJV
[7] The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul.
[8] The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Amen

Bible Questions Answered: Little Horn

Bible Questions Answered:
Daniel speaks of the “little horn,” who is he?
Ronald/ St. Petersburg, Russia

Bible Answers:
The scripture to which you refer is ...

Daniel 7:8,24-26 KJV (The eleventh king.)
[8] I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
[24] And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
[25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
[26] But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

Nebuchadnezzar's dream of a giant man-
Daniel 2:31-35
[31] Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
[32] This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver,
his belly and his thighs of brass,
[33] His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
[34] Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
[35] Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

Head of Gold (Corresponding to the kingdom of Nebuchadnezzar, Babylon).
Breast and arms of Silver (Corresponding to the reign of Medo-Persia).
Belly and thighs of Brass (Corresponding to the reign of Greece, under Alexander the great). Alexander's kingdom divided into four parts after his death.
Legs of iron, with feet of iron and clay (Corresponding to Rome).

Now, Daniels interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's dream corresponds with a dream that Daniel had concerning four beasts.

Daniel 7:1-8 KJV
[1] In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.
[2] Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
[3] And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
[4] The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
[5] And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
[6] After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
[7] After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
[8] I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

The Lion-like beast (Corresponds to Nebuchadnezzar's Head of God). Nebuchadnezzar, Babylon.
The Bear-like beast (Corresponds to Nebuchadnezzar's Beast, Arms of Silver). Medo-Persia.
The Leopard-like beast (Corresponds to Nebuchadnezzar's Belly and Thighs of Brass).Greece.This beast had four heads, Alexander's kingdom divided by four
The fourth Beast with Iron Teeth (Corresponds to Nebuchadnezzar's Legs of Iron, with feet of Iron and Clay.) Rome.
This beast had ten horns. Daniel does not mention here, how many heads if more than one, no doubt it was the same as the beast of Revelation 13:1.

We mention all of that to say all of this.
The ten toes of Nebuchadnezzar's giant man, are the same as Daniel's Fourth Beast with Iron teeth, and ten horns.

The ten toes, were mixed with iron and clay, a sign of weakness and disaster, Daniel 2:34,35.
The ten horns (of Daniel's fourth beast), had a little horn that grew up amongst them, and that uprooted three other horns, (Daniel 7:8).
This kingdom will also meet with disaster, Daniel 7:9-11.

Who is this little horn?
The Apostle Paul tells us in....

II Thessalonians 2:1-10 KJV
[1] Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him,
[2] That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
[3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
[4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
[5] Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
[6] And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
[7] For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only He who now letteth will let, until He be taken out of the way.
[8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming:
[9] Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
[10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

This little horn, is further described in...

Revelation 13:1-8 KJV

[1] And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
[2] And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
[3] And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
[4] And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
[5] And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
[6] And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
[7] And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
[8] And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Johns revelation of course corresponds to the visions of Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel.

Head wounded unto death, Rome came to it's own end, but now in these last days of European Confederacy, we see a revived Roman Empire.

Today, many believe that the European Common Market is that revived Roman Empire.
Out of this confederacy, will emerge the “little horn.”
The “little horn,” is non other than the Anti-Christ that is to come.

II Thessalonians 2:3,4 KJV
[3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
[4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Daniel 7:8, 24-26 KJV

This little horn, will overcome three kings.
He will be hailed as a mighty conquerer, emperor.
Revelation 6:2 KJV
And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow (but no arrows, his conquering was of supernatural means.); and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

He will appear to Israel as her promised Messiah.
Making a 7 year Covenant with them for peace and safety.
He will help them rebuild their long awaited temple.
When the temple will be finished, he will sit in it proclaiming himself to be god.

II Thessalonians 2:4 KJV (The Abomination of Desolation.)
[4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Daniel 11:31,32 NLT
31 “His army will take over the Temple fortress, pollute the sanctuary, put a stop to the daily sacrifices, and set up the sacrilegious object that causes desecration.
32 He will flatter and win over those who have violated the covenant. But the people who know their God will be strong and will resist him.

Daniel 12:11 NLT
“From the time the daily sacrifice is stopped and the sacrilegious object that causes desecration is set up to be worshiped, there will be 1,290 days.

Matthew 24:15,16 KJV
[15] When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
[16] Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

Matthew 24:21-27 KJV
[21] For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
[22] And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
[23] Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
[24] For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
[25] Behold, I have told you before.
[26] Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
[27] For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

The end of the devil, and the Beast (The Anti-Christ) and the False Prophet (Spiritual Leader).

Revelation 20:10 KJV
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Bible Questions Answered: Millennium

Bible Questions Answered:
I have heard that there is coming a time of peace and no war, when will this ever be?
Kattie/ Kumasi, Ghana, South Africa

Bible Answers:
Yes, according to Bible Prophecy, this is coming a wonderful time of peace, and there will be peace, because, the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ, with His saints, will be ruling and reigning from Jerusalem.

Isaiah 2:1-5 KJV
[1] The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
[2] And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
[3] And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
[4] And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people:
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks:
nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

[5] O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

Isaiah 11:1-10 KJV
1 And there shall come forth a Rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
3 And shall make Him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and He shall not judge after the sight of His eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of His ears:
4 But with righteousness shall He judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and He shall smite the earth: with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His reins.
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
10 And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and His rest shall be glorious.

Micah 4:1-5 KJV
[1] But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
[2] And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
[3] And He shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks:
nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

[4] But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.
[5] For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.

Zechariah 14:16-21 KJV
16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD's house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of Hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

Hebrews 8:10,11 KJV
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest.

This prophetic time is what is known as the Millennium.

Order of events:
Wars and rumors of wars.
The secret Rapture of the Church of Jesus Christ.
Seven years of Tribulation, under the Anti-Christ.
The Tribulation period ends with the Battle of Armageddon.
The Battle of Armageddon, ends with the Second Coming of Christ, with His followers.
Anti-Christ, and his False Prophet (spiritual leader), taken and thrown into the lake of fire.
Lucifer, Satan, the Dragon, is taken and chained and cast into the bottomless pit, to remain there until the end of the Millennium.
Christ separates the sheep from the goats, the judgment of the nations. (Matthew 25:31-46)
Millennial rule of Christ and His people from Jerusalem.

The Millennium is the rule and reign of the Lord Jesus with His people, a one thousand year period.

Isaiah 65:19-25 KJV
[19] And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
[20] There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
[21] And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
[22] They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
[23] They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
[24] And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
[25] The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

There will be wonderful peace on earth, because of the Prince of Peace.
Such wonderful peace and harmony, as this verse testifies, that even the animals will no longer hunt and kill each other, to eat, they will be at peace with man and each other.

Revelation 20:1-6 KJV
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Will there still be death?
Yes, for the Apostle Paul reminds us...

I Corinthians 15:26 KJV
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Will there be sin?
Yes, apparently so, ...

Isaiah 65:20 KJV

There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

It would seem the days of longevity will be restored, so that if a person dies at one hundred years of age, he will be thought of as a child.
A sinner who dies at one hundred years of age, will be considered to have been judged by God!

Psalm 11:4-6 KJV
[4] The LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD's throne is in heaven: His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men.
[5] The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence His soul hateth.
[6] Upon the wicked He shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

At this time there will be several classes of individuals.
Christ and His Glorified Saints, and the throngs of individuals who are alive and will enter the Millennium.

These, people who are not glorified, Gentile and Jew, who will be raising children, they must, as did the church, turn to the Saviour, to be “Redeemed.”

Dear Friend, do you know the Prince of Peace?
Is He your Saviour?
Call on Him today,

Acts 2:21 KJV
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Bible Questions Answered: Creation Gap Theory

Bible Questions Answered:
If God, and his creation is so great, why does Genesis say, his creation was without any form and void, hardly a place conducive to life!
Brandon/ Briston, Great Britain UK

Bible Answers:
We must never take one verse out of context and make a principle out of it. This is what is commonly referred to as improper exegesis.
Well, having said that, what does “The Word,” say regarding such a matter.

You are very right, in assuming one thing, whether it be His church or His creation, God is not the Creator of havoc.

I Corinthians 14:33,40 KJV
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 KJV
“He hath made every thing beautiful in His time: ...”

Isaiah 45:18 KJV
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

Isaiah 45:18 NLT
For the Lord is God,and He created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos.
“I am the Lord,” He says,“ and there is no other.

Well, if this be the case, and it is, how do we explain the Genesis 1:2, ruin?

Genesis 1: 1,2 KJV
[1] In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (God's original creation-but some kind of cataclysmic event took place between vs. 1 & 2.)
[2] And the earth was (This Hebrew word -was- Hayetha, is many times translated-”became.”) without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Form: Hebrew: Tohuw: A desolation, desert, a worthless thing, in vain, confusion, empty place, without form, nothing, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness.

Void: Hebrew: Bohuw: To be empty, an indistinguishable ruin, emptiness, void.

Darkness: Hebrew: Choshek: The dark, misery, destruction, death, sorrow, night, obscurity.

Deep: Hebrew: Thown: An abyss, A surging mass of water, the sea or subterranean waters.

(Abingdon Strong)

Not a very nice place to be.
But why this desolation?
For that answer we must turn to the Word of God.

Hints of an answer are found throughout scripture, hints of a judgment that had taken place, before the creation of Adam and Eve.

II Peter 3:5,6 KJV
[5] For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
[6] Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

Job 9:5-7 (The anger of God.)
[4] He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against Him, and hath prospered?
[5] Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in His anger.
[6] Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
[7] Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.

Isaiah 14:15-17 KJV (Concerning Lucifer)
[15] Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
[16] They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
[17] That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

Isaiah 24:1 KJV (Pole Shift?)
Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

Psalm 104:29,30 KJV
[29] Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
[30] Thou sendest forth Thy Spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

Jeremiah 4:23-27 KJV
[23] I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
[24] I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
[25] I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
[26] I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by His fierce anger.
[27] For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

That some great catastrophe took place between Genesis 1:1, and verse 2 seems more than evident.
What it was, we are not told.
Beginning with verse two, we have God's recreation, replenishing of the earth.

Genesis 1:2 "...And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."

God's Judgment:
Jeremiah 18:1-10 KJV

[1] The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
[2] Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
[3] Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
[4] And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
[5] Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
[6] O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in Mine hand, O house of Israel.
[7] At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
[8] If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
[9] And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
[10] If it do evil in My sight, that it obey not My voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.

I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church.

Colossians 1:24 NAS
Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions.

Colossians 1:24 AMP
[Even] now I rejoice in the midst of my sufferings on your behalf. And in my own person I am making up whatever is still lacking and remains to be completed [on our part] of Christ's afflictions, for the sake of His body, which is the church.

Colossians 1:24-27 J.B. Phillips
I myself have been made a minister of this same Gospel, and though it is true at this moment that I am suffering on behalf of you who have heard the Gospel, yet I am far from sorry about it. Indeed, I am glad, because it gives me a chance to complete in my own sufferings something of the untold pains for which Christ suffers on behalf of His body, the Church. For I am a minister of the Church by divine commission, a commission granted to me for your benefit and for a special purpose: that I might fully declare God's word - that sacred mystery which up to now has been hidden in every age and every generation, but which is now as clear as daylight to those who love God. They are those to whom God has planned to give a vision of the full wonder and splendour of His secret plan for the sons of men. And the secret is simply this: Christ in you! Yes, Christ in you bringing with Him the hope of all glorious things to come.

How “very clear, “ the Word of God is regarding the subject of “works.”

Ephesians 2:8,9 KJV
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

What part of that simple verse, can we not understand?
“For by Grace are ye saved through Faith:”

“AND THAT “NOT OF YOURSELVES:
IT IS THE “GIFT OF GOD:”
NOT OF WORKS,
LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST.”

There is no such thing as salvation by Works: Education, Ordination, Accreditation, Baptism, Consecration, Edification, Nobility, SUFFERING-albeit for ourselves, or for others!

Salvation is not an Earned Benefit.
Salvation is by the Grace of God, through our Faith, and Confession, of Jesus Christ!

Isaiah 64:6 KJV
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;
and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Titus 3:4-7 KJV
[4] But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
[5] Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
[6] Which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
[7] That being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Titus 3:4-7 NLT
4 But—“When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love,
5 He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.
7 Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.”

Hebrews 10:8-18 NLT
8 First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses).
9 Then He said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect.
10 For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ,
once for all time.

11 Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins.
12 But our High Priest offered Himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time.
18 And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices.

Romans 3:24 KJV
Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Much more could be said.

Colossians 1:24 NLT
I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for His body, the church.

Christ, suffered and died for our salvation.
His sacrifice was “Perfect, and Complete.”

John 17:4 KJV
I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which Thou (God the Father) gavest Me to do.

John 19:30 KJV (At the cross.)
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost.

Nothing, absolutely, nothing may be added to the “Finished -Salvation-Work,” of Jesus Christ!

Revelation 22:18,19 KJV
[18] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
[19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

What was the Apostle Paul saying?
I am glad when I suffer for you in my body,
for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for His body, the church.

The Work of salvation was a perfect, and completed work of Christ.
But we who are His followers, often meet with sufferings, as we do His work.

John 15:18-21 KJV
[18] If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.
[19] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
[20] Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours also.
[21] But all these things will they do unto you for My name's sake, because they know not Him that sent Me.

John 16:33 KJV
These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

II Timothy 2:12 KJV
If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us:

Philippians 1:29 KJV
For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him,
but also to suffer for His sake;

Romans 10:10 KJV (There is no such thing as a Closet Christian.)
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Matthew 10:32,33 KJV
[32] Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven.
[33] But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven.

II Corinthians 4:10,11 KJV
[10] Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
[11] For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

II Corinthians 4:8-11 NLT
8 We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair.
9 We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.
10 Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.
11 Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies.

Jesus warned:

Luke 9:23KJV
And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up
his cross daily, and follow Me.

Luke 14:27 KJV
And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple.

The Apostle Paul,
1)Preached the Gospel, and
2)Suffered for the Gospel. (And Paul said..”Now I rejoice in my sufferings...” NAS)

Salvation, is the “Finished Work of Christ.”
Publishing the Gospel, and Suffering for it, is yet ongoing, and will be, till the day of salvation is forever closed.

As members of Christ's church, we too, will have our sufferings.

I Peter 5:6,7 KJV
[6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time:
[7] Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.
[8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
[9] Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
[10] But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Romans 8:18 KJV
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
